THE WHISTLESTOP
Center Director’s Report on Madison Station Happy October! The staff at Madison Station is looking forward to the cooler weather and the beautiful fall leaves. With trips down the Cumberland River, to Montgomery Bell State Park, and Timberland Park on the Natchez Trace, you are sure to enjoy both the weather and the view. Held each October, “Artober Nashville” is a month-long celebration of the arts in Nashville and Program Director, Julie Reeves, has set up some trips and events to join in on the fun. Trips to the Frist Center for the “Food for Thought: Changing the World” lunch and lecture series and the Ketner’s Mill Country Art & Craft show, along with Watercolor Art Class and Art Show at the Center, are sure to inspire the artist in all of us! On the “Innately Nashville” trip you can enjoy some of Nashville’s local food favorites and more art with a visit to the Nations Silo and local t-shirt shop, Project 615. Thanks to everyone who has signed up on to receive the monthly newsletter by email or pick-up at the Center instead of by mail. This is getting the Center closer to its “Go Green” goal of printing less newsletters and saving on postage too! Also, as a reminder, all payments for classes, programs, and events are now processed through the front desk. Pre-pay options are available for the exercise classes with the purchase of either a “5 Class Pass” or “10 Class Pass.” Stop by the front desk to get one, today! Improvement projects throughout the building and parking lot will continue take place. Up next, the installment of new computers and technology classes too. Have a Great Autumn! —Brandy Lamb, Center Director
