Letter from the Center Director We have lots of exciting news to share! First up, the 2019 Best of Madison-Rivergate Awards were announced and we won! Each year the Madison-Rivergate Chamber asks the community to nominate their local favorites in several categories and then vote. We are excited to share that we won Best Retirement Community for the 2nd year in a row and Best Nonprofit this year! Thank you to all who voted. Next up, March 7 is our 20th Annual Whistlestop with a New Orleans theme dinner, silent auction, prize wall, performances by our Silver Notes Band and Loose Caboose Players, the announcement of the Member of the Year Award, and next year's dinner theme destination. The evening is emceed by NewsChannel 5's, Lelan Note that we will Statom. We hope you can join us; tickets are available until close at Noon on March 1 and are $50 for members or $550 for a table. All proceeds go to support FiftyForward Madison Station. If you can’t attend, March 7 to prepare you can also donate items for the silent auction or purchase “puffs of smoke” for our Whistlestop train. Details will be posted on the wall for our Whistlestop in the main hallway. Please note that on the day of Whistlestop, we Fundraiser. will be closing at Noon to allow time to prepare for the evening. Keep an eye out around the center as we continue to renovate and freshen up the center. We are wrapping up our Memorial Grant projects and beginning some new Capital projects. Most recently we power washed the outside of the building and it looks great! Warm Regards, Brandy Lamb, Center Director

Letter from the Program Director This month we are celebrating one year of printing the newsletter—at least partially—in color! And if you get your newsletter via email—you see it all in color! We encourage you to sign up for email or pick your newsletter up at the center to save us postage. In March, we have several special program opportunities—TWO Lunch and Learns, Bunco Bonanza, an iPad instruction course, and a Business Fair—not to mention our monthly Tasty Tuesday, Art Class, and fabulous trips. Don’t miss a thing! I made the announcement at the end of last month that I will be leaving FiftyForward in mid-April. I recently got married and my husband and I will be moving to Lebanon, a drive too tiring for everyday. Stay tuned for details of a wedding reception/farewell party in April. Hugs, Julie Reeves, Program Director

Join Us at our First Business Fair! Our FiftyForward Madison Station Fundraising Committee is introducing something new: a Business Fair! On Wednesday, March 27 from 9:30 a.m. to Noon in the social room, we will have several local vendors available. This will give members an opportunity to see the array of businesses and services available in the area. The vendors are not selling, so there's no pressure! Just come chat. Door prizes will be given away, too, so don't miss out on a fun, informative and free event!
