THE WHISTLESTOP
All Aboard for Whistlestop 2016 FiftyForward Madison Station’s biggest fundraiser is ‘boarding’ on Thursday, March 10 and we could use YOUR help to make it a success in its 17th year! The “Whistlestop” is a silent auction, dinner, and awards night that brings our community together for the many programs offered by FiftyForward Madison Station. Each year our center serves over 1,000 adults 50+, and all monies raised go directly to support those programs. This year, there are three ways you can help: 1. Come to the event on March 10! The Silent Auction and Reception begin at 5:30 pm and Dinner begins at 6:30 pm. Tickets are normally $75 per person, but we are giving our members the discounted price of $50! Reserve your seat at the front desk by March 3. 2. Donate an item(s) to our silent auction. Items that we need ar e gift car ds, NEW merchandise, tickets to events/places, etc. If you have contacts at restaurants, stores, etc., we have a donation letter, that we can give you to make a donation request. 3. Add your name to our Whistlestop Wall. Can’t come to the event or donate an item? Fuel our train with a $10.00 or $25.00 donation. You’ll get to write your name on a corresponding size puff of smoke coming out of the train on our sponsor wall. Make your donations at the front desk.
Working together, we can keep the train moving! All Aboard!

Inclement Weather Policy You all just experienced our Inclement Weather Policy with the “Snowpocalypse” at the end of January, but we just wanted to remind you again in case any more snow hits in February! On days when Metro Schools are closed due to inclement weather, Davidson County Centers will open at 10 a.m. and all classes, trips and special programs will be canceled. Please remember this means Metro Meals is cancelled also if schools are closed. If Metro is already scheduled to be out on a day when there is inclement weather, FiftyForward will post the Center’s opening status to Snowbird. Center Directors may also use their discretion as to whether the Center should be closed early or open late to allow members and staff extra time to travel safely. As always, if State offices are closed due to inclement weather, all FiftyForward centers/offices will remain closed.
Our Mission FiftyForward enriches the lives of adults 50 + by providing pathways to health, well-being and lifelong learning. 301 Madison St. Madison, TN 37115
