Ugly Sweater Party & Cookie Swap Thursday, December 17 What more do we want at the holiday season than to show off our gaudy, busily beautiful, outrageous, or downright ugly Christmas and holiday sweaters and outfits? Nothing! Except to show them off while eating cookies, enjoying hot chocolate and a topping buffet, making homemade snowflake decorations, and mingling with our friends while listening to holiday tunes! Whether you are a Grinch, a Scrooge or a holiday-lover, join us on Thursday, December 17th 1:30 p.m. for all of the above or just the things you want to do. A photo booth will be on hand to capture the sweaters in all their glory. For those wanting to swap cookies, bring a dozen cookies in a container that will not need to be returned to you. The swappin’ will begin at 2:00. Feel like being a Christmas angel? Bring cookies for those who can’t (or won’t) bake so they can share in the carbohydrate delights as well. RSVP by signing up in the FREE Event Binder on the front desk.
Trip Policy Update Effective January 1, 2016 *The new trip release day will now be the third Thursday of every month. Look for Trippin’ Third Thursday, aka T3, trip sheets at the front desk beginning January 21st. *Priority Seating - Madison members receive first priority seating. If a trip does not fill up, members from other centers are welcome to come. A waiting list will be utilized for this purpose. *Late arrivals - The trip will leave at the stated departure time. Please be on time. *Cancellations and No Shows - A credit will be issued if a cancellation is given within 48 hours of a trip’s scheduled departure. However, in the case of a trip involving preordered tickets or reservations, a credit will be given only if we can refill your seat. Trip payments will be forfeited if 48 hour notice is not received or in the case of a no-show. Extreme exceptions to be made by the Center Director. *Credits - Please use 2015 credits by December 31st. In 2016 we’ll begin with a completely clean credit slate. New credits will expire at the end of the month after the month in which the trip was scheduled. For example, a credit given for a trip canceled in January will be able to be used through the end of February. Trip credits can only be used toward other trips. Thank you for your understanding and patience as these new policies take effect in January. If you have questions, please feel free to speak with Kelsey, Sam or Julie. 301 Madison St. Madison, TN 37115

CCM Food Donations Thank you everyone who donated food to the Christian Cooperative Ministry (CCM) for their Thanksgiving food boxes! We took in almost 300 items! This holds a personal place in my heart because my mother is a volunteer at the center as well as the Vice President on the board. Did you know that Madison’s CCM is the busiest Second Harvest Food Distribution Center in ALL of Nashville? On average they distribute 20 food boxes per day to our Madison neighbors in need. That’s why I’m asking you to consider donating canned goods, boxes of cereal, mac and cheese, and other non-perishable goods throughout the year to the CCM. You can bring your donations to me at the front desk and I will arrange to get them to the Center. ~Thank you, Julie Reeves

Although it did not win this year, we hope they will try again in 2016 and that you will all go out and vote for their tree. Stop by Center Court to see the lovely tree through December 31st!

I Believe by Nancy McDougal Yes, I believe in Santa Claus. I’m sure you know I do. I’m full of Christmas spirit; I feel as the children do. I’ve wrapped the presents with their bows and draped the tinsel ‘round. I’ve hung the mistletoe up high for here ole Santa’s bound. The tree is in the corner. I stand in awe of it. Like fairies dancing on a star, it mystifies when lit. I turn the lights on every day and switch the music on. Those Christmas tunes so beautiful, the bells my favorite tone. I’ve baked my Christmas goodies all ready for our guests. I love to share with them this joy here in our humble nest.
When Christmas Eve arrives at last, the family gathered near around the toasty fireside, we’ll share some Christmas cheer. We’ll “oh” and “ah” at gifts unwrapped with thanks and lots of hugs. And when it all is over spy sparkles upon the rugs. We’ll fill our tummies, of course, with traditions old as I. Then snap pictures of each other before we say goodbye. Another year’s come to a close. It’s almost kinda sad. But soon there'll be another a lot like this we had.
