First off, I want you all to be aware of the History Education Lunch and Learn series we are holding for 8 weeks! This series will run into September BUT we are holding a PARTY at the end of the 8 weeks and trust me you don’t want to miss it! Please plan to attend as many, if not all, of the classes throughout this series! Second, we have our “Slice of Art” program starting this month which we have been SO EXCITED about and it is finally here! Please sign up at the front desk if you are interested in this class…. It is a 7 week series that cost $40 for the entire 7 weeks! Of course, we have some great daytrips this month starting with the Annual Blue Heron Cruise so get to the front desk ASAP if you are interested in attending this trip!! We also will be going back to the Frist and taking a lunch trip to Joey’s House of Pizza!! We have tons of Awareness classes happening this month as well as our two favorite series classes starting back: Tai Chi and Walk with Ease! August is sounds pretty great so lets us know what you plan to attend and come on over for some fun! PLEASE REMEMBER> at the center there are flyers and signup sheets for all FREE events BUT just because they are FREE does not mean we do not need a headcount…. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you sign up for all programs so we have a headcount in the case of food! Thank you and Happy August!

We want you to remember to stay cool and drink plenty of water! School starts in August—Keep an eye out for the children while driving. We will have a driving safety day coming up soon, until then stay alert and watch out for excited and distracted children. First Monday Lunch in September will be September 10th instead of September 3rd, please mark your calendars. Dan Harrell from UT Extension will be back with our Gardening Group August 10th, September 14th and October 12th to help us wrap up a successful gardening season. What an awesome garden we had this year. If there is something you desire from the garden, please let one of the Garden members know, please do not pick from the garden. The garden group loves sharing what is sown, however, we want to make sure items are not plucked too soon. Wanting the basics on how to use a computer?
