Honey has long been recognized as one of nature’s purest foods. But bees give us much more than honey. In fact, according to recent article in Yale’s Environment 360 publication, “one of every three bites of food eaten worldwide depends on pollinators, especially bees, for a successful harvest.” Charles Murphree has been keeping bees since the early 90s. He also teaches Beginning Beekeeping at the Duck River Beekeepers Association. Mr. Murphree will be our speaker at this month’s Birthday Potluck. He will give us the skinny on bees and beekeeping, as well as other gifts they provide in addition to honey. There is a

possibility that he will also bring an observation hive! Join us for this interesting and informative presentation on Wednesday, June 18. Lunch is at 11:30, and Mr. Murphree’s presentation will begin at noon. The Center provides the main course. Please bring a side dish.
