Mark your calendar for Thursday, July 3! We have an exceptional Independence Day celebration in store. The centerpiece of the program is a monologue from Ben Franklin — in full period costume! The speech is both moving and informative, and was written by center member, Luke Boyd. Luke is a historian and local columnist, as well as a former teacher and principal of BGA. The monologue will be delivered by local actor, Herb Wallace. Herb studied at Chicago’s prestigious acting school, The Second City, and is a
veteran of community theatre across the country. We will have music from Jacki Rumpp and Marcella Baker. Our state congressmen will also be here. In keeping with the day’s theme, this special event is sponsored by Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. Lunch will be served at 11:30 and costs $4. The program will begin at noon. Deadline for reservations is Monday, June 30. Please sign up!
You can count on a totally delightful experience at Birthday Potluck this month, when the workshop group from DancEast brings movement and creativity to our Center. Girls between the ages of 7 and 12 will perform ballet, modern and jazz dance routines. Watching them move

College Grove Red Hatters will host our counterparts from Eagleville this month, and provide sandwiches, salads, desserts and tea for lunch.
