Bob Ross Oil Painting Class– $25 for a completed oil painting on canvas! Taught by certified instructor Liz Farar.

Combines fun & fitness to increase your cardiovascular & muscle endurance with a standing workout. *SilverSneakers Stress Reduction & Restorative Breathing– Every Monday from 2-3 p.m. This class focuses on reducing stress through breathing techniques & gentle exercise. Taught by Kathleen Phillips. *SilverSneakers Yoga - Now on Wednesdays at 10 a.m. Taught by Kathleen Phillips. Tai-Chi– Wednesdays at 9 a.m. & 6:45 p.m. Taught by Larry Lee. Learn the ancient art of Tai Chi to improve balance, flexibility and overall health. $3/class Yoga– Mondays at 2 p.m. & 6 p.m., Wednesdays at 2 p.m., Thursdays at 6 p.m. & Fridays at 2 p.m. Taught by Stephen North, Jr. Learn the art of relaxation & health through traditional yoga. $5/class.

Bible Conversation – Led by Story Church, Bible Conversation meets every Wednesday at 10 a.m.

Book Club – Meet Wednesday, July 23rd at 1:00 p.m. The July selection is A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving and is available as a Book in a Bag selection. Pick it up through Sam or Del. Facilitator: Del Dorr.

Brain Train – Every Monday at 11:00 practice team trivia with Madison’s Brain Train team. Come for fun and/or to join!

Bunco - Come play Bunco at its new time on the first Tuesday of every month at 12:30 p.m. We need at least 4 to play this easy dice game. Free prizes for those who win the most and Bunco.

Crochet Club – Every Wednesday at 12:30 p.m. All crocheters welcome for fun and fellowship! Instruction provided.

Film Club – Join the Film Club on the 3rd and 4th Fridays of the month at 1:30 p.m. for a movie and refreshments.

Friday Night Music Jam - Every Friday from 6-9 p.m. Free, but they do pass the hat for donations. All acoustic music welcome. Bring your instrument and sign up to play!

Game Club – Everyone is welcome to join Sam on the second Tuesday of each month at 12:30 p.m. to play a new game. In July, play a new board game donated by Dot Birdwell, called “Senior Moments”. This fun game will challenge your memory.

Genealogy Club – Genealogy Club will not meet in July due to consideration of the holiday.

Golden Tones Choir – Led by Geno Haffner. Fridays at 12:30 p.m. Seeking those who love to sing.

Inglewood & Friends – Meets 3rd Tuesday of each month at 1 p.m. Plans monthly trips.

Karaoke Club – Meets 2nd Thursday of each month at 12:30 p.m. led by “D. J. Dottie” Dillard. Come sing your favorite song or just listen. Door prizes!

Knitting Club – Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. Don’t know how? Someone will show you! Just bring your knitting needles and some yarn.

Madison Travelers – Meets 1st Wednesday of each month at 12 p.m. Plans monthly trips for evenings and weekends.

Mexican Train Dominoes – 12:30 p.m. every Wednesday. Come learn how to play this fun game. Bring a set of dominoes if you have them.

Open Music Jam – Every Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. in Classroom #2.

Photo Club – The Nashville Photography’s Digital Focus Group meets the fourth Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. In July they will be discovering options in Lightroom.

Pop-Up Club – Sign up at the front desk to be made aware of last minute deals on trips and entertainment, known as “pop-ups” as they come available.

Quilting Club – Mondays from 11-2 p.m. Bring your materials and quilt away! Led by Carole Petty.

Red Hat Society – Meets 2nd Monday of each month at 10:30 a.m. $15 yearly dues. Join these ladies for lunch in red and purple gear! Linda Kent, Queen. Monday, July 14th the ladies will lunch at TGI Friday’s.

Reminisce – Meets 1st Tuesday at 1 p.m. Go back in time with Nancy McDougal. Door prizes!

Silver Notes Band – Wednesday at 2 p.m. 16-piece+ big band that performs all over Nashville. Kim Yearwood, Band Leader. Did you play an instrument in high school? Come join us!

Still Searching – This reading and discussion group will take off the months of July and August to enjoy the summer.

Meet with others who are journeying through the same processes in a safe and confidential environment. Facilitated by Adam Waltenbaugh, Masters in Counseling, Vanderbilt University.

Having a Big Party? Rent our Building!We provide rental of our Social Room for evenings and Saturdays. Cost is $100 per hour, minimum of three hours and includes all tables and chairs. FiftyForward members receive a 25% discount!

Open Computer LabOur computer lab is equipped with cable internet and open for your daily use! *NOTE: Lab is closed during private computer tutoring times, massage, reflexology, Legal Aid and Medicare Counseling. * Personal TrainerMichael Neel, Certified Personal Trainer is available to work with you on Mondays from 4:30-6:30 p.m. He will be happy to show you how to safely and effectively use the fitness equipment in the Fitness Center. Music for Seniors: Children and Handbell Choir Auscultate to an hour-long Ring ‘n’ Sing! Music for Seniors will host the children’s ‘Genesis Choir and Handbells’ from First Baptist Church of Mt. Holly, NC. Afterward, manducate at Noodles & Company: “Noodles, salads, and sandwiches from around the world. The best dishes from America, Asia and the Mediterranean - prepared to your liking, the Noodles way.”

Tallulah and Vernon want their unruly daughter, Opal Runelle, to be a refined lady so she can leave the hardships of Hog Woller Holler, Tennessee. Tallulah contacts Miss Clementine DuBois, a bonafide lady who claims she can refine any girl. Upon Miss DuBois’ arrival, she realizes the work she has ahead of her. Opal spends her days fishing and her nights coon hunting. Thursday, July 10 – 4:45 p.m. $30 + Dinner Senior Medical University 101 The Senior Medical University 101 series features a speaker from Skyline Medical Center. They will speak on the topic “Strokes.” See the front desk for more information. The talk includes your lunch for the day.

Monday, July 14 – 11:00 a.m. $5 includes Lunch Madison Travelers to see “The Red Velvet Cake War” Take a hop, skip and a jump to Lakewood Theatre Company to view “The Red Velvet Cake War.” In this riotously funny Southern-fried comedy, the three Verdeen cousins could not have picked a worse time to throw their family reunion. But the cousins can’t back out of the reunion now. Unfortunately, they face an uphill battle as a parade of wildly eccentric Verdeens gathers on the hottest day of July, smack-dab in the middle of Texas tornado season. Eat beforehand at Famous Dave’s.

Friday, July 18 – 5:00 p.m. $12 + Dinner *First Ever* Bucket List Trip: Hot Air Balloon Ride Watch the sunset from a hot air balloon with Dream Flight USA! Take flight out of Franklin and travel where the wind blows for an hour-long ride. Be sure to eat a late lunch as we will be traveling to our destination and embarking around 6:00 or 6:30 p.m.

After touching down, enjoy a late dinner at Five Guys Burgers and Fries before heading home. We have obtained a special discount rate for this trip. *Note: Hurry to sign up at the front desk by Friday, June 27th. No refunds will be given after June 27th.

Monday, July 21 – 4:00 p.m. $200 + Dinner *Vote* for Your After-Lunch Activity – Lynchburg, TN Peregrinate to Lynchburg, TN to take in the live Old Time Country Radio Show with lunch to follow at the BBQ Caboose Café.

Now comes the fun: vote for either Choice A or Choice B for the after-lunch activity at the front desk when you sign up. Choice A) Visit the famous Jack Daniels Distillery for an hour-long tour (includes walking outdoors). Patriot Pleasantries Happy Independence Day, America!

FiftyForward will be closed on Friday, July 4 to celebrate our country’s Independence. The Friday Night Music Jam will also take the night off to better join in the celebration. Have an amazing July Fourth weekend!

Benefit Checkup Community Food Advocates will offer a Benefit Checkup after Tasty Tuesday each month in the Social Room at 1:00 p.m. Stop by on Tuesday, July 15th to chat with Mary Ellen about SNAP, she can help you signup right there, as well as other benefits for which you may be eligible.

Meet with the Brain Train, FiftyForward Madison’s trivia team, every Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Social Room. We’ll teach you how to play this fun, easy and educational game. We welcome anyone who wants to play casually or who may want to join the team as a committed member! Brain Train’s goal is to compete for FiftyForward in the 2014 Senior Brain Games put on by the Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability.

Bucket Lip Trip *Good news! We had enough people sign up on the Interest List for the Zip Line trip. We are going to wait until September for this trip to give the weather a chance to cool down. Be on the lookout in August for more information. *The next suggested Bucket List trip is Paintball! If you have interest in participating in a paintball trip, sign up on the Interest List at the front desk. *Have something you’ve always wanted to do? See Sam or slip a suggestion into the Suggestion Box and we will put out an Interest List. If there are enough people interested, Sam will plan the trip.

Amateur Songwriter Class One of our members is interested in teaching a beginner's amateur songwriting class. If you have any interest in taking this class, please sign up at the front desk.

Where are we located?

FiftyForward Madison Station’s address is 301 Madison Street. However, we are physically located at the end of Douglas Street. There is a sign in the driveway that says “FiftyForward Madison Station.”
