J . L . Tu r n e r C e n t e r January Newsletter FiftyForward enriches the lives of adults 50+ by providing pathways to health, well-being, and lifelong learning. January 2015
Letter from the Director Dear Turner Center Members, Welcome to 2015, which we hope will be the year that you try one of the FiftyForward Firsts that the J. L. Turner Center will be planning for our members to try! I do want to share some news with you...It is with mixed emotions that I let you know that I have accepted a position as a Care Team Social Worker in the FiftyForward Corporate Office and I will be leaving my position as the Director of the J. L. Turner Center effective 1/15/15. I have truly enjoyed my 2+years here and have loved getting to know many of the members at the center. I will miss you all and wish you nothing but happiness and good health in the coming years. Thank you for the kindness and support that you have shown me in my tenure as the director of the center. All the best, Megan
New Year, New You FiftyForward is keeping you busy in 2015. We’ve designed a calendar of activities that will give you the chance to learn something new, try something different, and we are keeping the calendar full of those favorites from years gone by. There are a ton of opportunities around the center to make this your most adventurous year. FiftyForward will give you the chance to have some adventures in and around Nashville with your FiftyForward friends through
FiftyForward Firsts. You can learn more about these opportunities in the section below.
FiftyForward Firsts It’s New Year’s resolution time. Ask yourself, “When is the last time I did something for the first time?” For 2015, we want to help you make and keep your New Year’s resolutions. To do that, the FiftyForward J. L. Turner Center is introducing FiftyForward Firsts. Throughout the year, we will give you an opportunity to try something you’ve never done before. So, WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU!! What is a FIRST you’d like to try? Chances are there is someone else who wants to try it, too. Watch the Turner Center lobby for the FiftyForward Firsts display and add your ‘first’ to the list. We’ll do our best to give you the opportunity to make it happen.
