No one is getting younger. You’ve heard that expression before (unless you’re living in seclusion with a wifi connection), but what does it actually mean? While we may not be able to run as fast as we used to, or even look quite the same, it’s not all bad news. In fact, for some, aging means a chance to see things in perspective, which is not always easy when you’re young and in the thick of things. It also means you have more inner peace and confidence.

Let’s get Digital! Basic Computer Operations Class 101 Melvin D. Fowler Center Director

The purpose of this class is to grasp and master basic computer operations. From this class all students should how to operate any computer without little assistance.

Class syllabus: Lesson 1: Participants will learn the functions of the computer. (Power button, Volume button, Charger port, etc.) Lesson 2: Review of the last lesson going over the functions and operations of the computer and allowing each participant to demonstrate their knowledge for, example allowing each participant to locate different keys on the computer. Adding to that knowledge we will continue to learn different icons on the computer, what they mean and how to access them. Lesson 3: Review from the last lesson allowing each participant to demonstrate their knowledge by locating and defining each icon. Continue learning the icon of the computer what they mean and how to access them. Lesson 4: Review from the last lesson and allowing each participant to demonstrate their knowledge by locating and defining each icon. Continuing learning the icon of the computer what they mean and how to access them. Lesson 5: Review from the last lesson allowing each participant to demonstrate their knowledge by locating and defining each icon. Continuing learning the icon of the computer what they mean and how to access them. Lesson 6: Learn how to access the internet and navigate through the home screen and learning what each icon means. Participants will learn how to properly type a website in the search engine as well as learn how to search for a topic. Lesson 7: the participants will do a review from the previous lesson compiling everything from the first lesson. Will have participants demonstrate their knowledge from turning on the computer to searching information on the internet. Lesson 8: Participants will learn how to navigate between different websites. They will also learn certain key words that different websites use to enable them to find the information they are looking for.
