Inclement Weather Policy
FREE Tax Preparation
On days when Metro Schools are closed due to inclement weather, Davidson County Centers will open at 10:00 a.m. and all classes, trips and special programs will be canceled. If Metro is already scheduled to be out on a day when there is inclement weather, FiftyForward will post the Center’s opening status to Snowbird. Center Directors may also use their discretion as to whether the Center should be closed early or open late to allow members and staff extra time to travel safely. As always, if State offices are closed due to inclement weather, all FiftyForward centers and offices will remain closed.
Free tax preparation appointments are now available! Certified tax preparers from AARP will be available between 9:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. every Wednesday beginning February 4th through April 15th. All you need to do is call (615) 860-7180 or come by the front desk to get an appointment. But hurry, slots are filling quickly! Also, be sure to bring proof of your healthcare insurance when coming for your scheduled appointment.
