Eclipse Picnic and Party Monday, August 21 at 12:30 pm Join us as we watch the total solar eclipse, which will be completely visible within just a narrow band across the entire US. The last time a total eclipse occurred was June 8, 1918, so this may be your only chance to witness “The Great American Eclipse.” A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the earth and the sun, partially or totally obscuring the image of the sun for a viewer on earth. We will start with a picnic lunch, which includes a cheeseburger or veggie burger, potato salad, drink and dessert. The cost is $9 for lunch and eclipse viewing glasses. We have 100 pairs of glasses available, so sign up fast. You MUST have the lunch in order to receive a pair of glasses. We will gather outside at 1:15 pm to view the eclipse at 1:27. It will end at 1:29 pm so do not be late! Sign up in the office or with a volunteer.
Center Luncheon August 30 at 11 am We welcome one of our favorite performers, Steven Whitson, back to FiftyForward for another great show.
