BRENDA RICKMAN VANTREASE is a historian and bestselling author from Nashville. She researches and writes about the history that led up to and included the Reformation — specifically about the struggle that began in the late 14th century to translate the Bible into English. You could say Brenda writes about freedom. Her three novels are published by St. Martin’s Press:  The Illuminator is a novel of art, love, and religion set in 14th century England.

The Mercy Seller is a book about books, set during the religious conflicts of pre-reformation Europe.  The Heretics Wife is a novel of love, treachery, and abuse of power in Tudor England. Join us for Potluck this March 15th, when Brenda discusses what life looked like for the people who lived 

WED., MARCH 22: THE RED HAT SOCIETY BARGAIN HUNTING IN COLUMBIA A-hunting we will go! Bargain hunting, that is, on March 22, when the Red Hatters travel to Columbia. We are going to wander through a couple of liquidation centers there that carry merchandise from stores like Walmart, Amazon, Home Depot and more. There will be lots of walking — so be sure to wear comfortable shoes! After we’ve worked our appetites up, we’ll go to the square and have lunch at Puckett’s. The van will leave the center at 9:30. Van fee is: $7. Heigh-ho the derry-o!
