30 Lunch & Program Dr. Tia Aryal
The Center will observe our nation’s independence on July 2, with barbeque lunch followed by a speech from a “mystery founding father.” For the second year, Center member Luke Boyd has penned a monologue from one of our founding fathers. The difference this year is that the founder’s identity will remain a secret until he reveals it himself, through the text of his speech. Herb Wallace, who portrayed Ben Franklin for us last year, will return
to deliver the speech in full period costume. Marcella Baker will play some beautiful patriotic music on the piano, and we will hear a few words from Congressman Casada. Our huge thanks to Wayne Barnes and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for sponsoring this event. It’ll be a fine way to usher in the 4th of July. Lunch is at 11:30, and will cost $5. Reservations are required! The program will follow at about noon.
