WHIT MCMAHAN IS AN ABE Lincoln Presenter. And he will be at Potluck this month, to portray Abe Lincoln for us! Dressed in period costume and speaking in first person, Whit will tell Lincoln’s story — from boyhood to his experiences as a circuit lawyer, through his presidency, the Civil War, and his untimely assassination.
Whit considers himself a living historian, and this isn’t his first week in the business. So come prepared to be thoroughly entertained this January 18th! Plus, we’ll probably all learn something about our 16th president that we did not know before. We’ll have lunch at 11:30, and Whit will begin about noon. provides the main course. Please bring a side dish.

A big thank you to all our volunteers that helped make our Pancake Breakfast with Santa and Bake Sale successful. We made around $1100 that will benefit the center. We could not have done it without the work of our dedicated volunteers. I must say having Santa and Mrs. Clause here was a very nice addition to our event. Thank you Mark Stewart and Pat Connelly. For years and years, Dawn Redlin donated the birthday cards that we mail to center members. She thought it was important, and we do too. Now that Dawn has passed, we are looking for someone else to donate birthday cards so we can continue her tradition. Any takers? Warm holidays to all,
Is anybody ready to go back to The Bluebird Café’s Senior Show? We get to hear music from a local songwriter — though we never know who it’s going to be — and they serve us coffee and doughnuts to boot! There is no charge for the morning, however, they give us the
opportunity to make a contribution to Helping Hands. Who knows where we’ll stop afterward. They feed us at the Bluebird, so the last time we did a little shopping before having lunch. The van will leave the Center at 8:30 on Jan. 9. Van fee is $7.
