A
my Dismukes is the Horticulture Extension Agent for Williamson County, and she knows a thing or two about hummingbirds. In a recent article, Amy wrote about how the ruby-throated hummingbird has two migration periods in Tennessee, one in the spring, and another during mid-summer to early fall. “Even if they are only migrating through,” she wrote “we can be a big help by being a much needed ‘rest stop’.” According to Amy, it isn’t difficult to attract hummingbirds into our yards.
In fact, she says we can create a “hummingbird haven, just by providing a few of the basics.” Join us at Potluck, this August 16th, and learn how to keep hummingbirds coming back into your landscape season after season. We’ll have lunch at 11:30, and Amy will begin about noon. The Center provides the main course. Please bring a side dish.

Observe and admire the powerful walking horses with us on Wed., August 23. We’ll stop somewhere nearby for lunch. The van will leave the Center at 9 am. Van fee is: $6.
