Highlights from the 2020 FiftyForward Member Survey – Here’s what YOU had to say!

A great big thank you to the 893 members who took the time to complete our FiftyForward Member Survey conducted in June! Member feedback helps FiftyForward understand how you think we are doing in living true to our mission to support, champion and enhance life for individuals 50 and older. Your input helps us move forward to serve in the ways that are most meaningful to you. This year is a much different year for all of us, and our FiftyForward survey looked different this year, too. We always request feedback from members about satisfaction with the activities offered in our centers, and we asked some of those questions this year as well. Since we were closed for in-person activities and we are all greatly affected by COVID19, we also asked about members’ experience during COVID-19. We care about you and want to understand better how life has changed for FiftyForward members at this time. Here is some of the important feedback you shared with us:

Members surveyed reported that because of FiftyForward: 90% feel happier and more satisfied with life; 94%

have something to look forward to;

94%

learn new things and

93%

are more physically active. Overall, 94% of members reported feeling that connection to FiftyForward has a positive effect on their lives!

During this time of COVID-19, members’ biggest concerns are about personal and family health and wellbeing. Ninety-six percent of respondents said their habits had changed during this time in ways that promote personal safety and the safety of our community – a powerful demonstration of the care and concern that we have for each other. Gratitude and hope are essential for resilience, and 95% of members said they found hope in aspects of their lives including continued health, support from family and friends, and by focusing on gratitude and their faith. Too many respondents are not aware of all of the programs and services offered by FiftyForward so we will be sending more information about those programs to all members. We are also so grateful for your overwhelmingly positive responses about FiftyForward! You are why FiftyForward is here and this very important feedback is so helpful and encouraging. We work hard every day to enrich and support the lives of our FiftyForward center members.

FiftyForward supports, champions and enhances life for those 50 and older. 1
