Letter from the Director Dear Turner Center Members, We are excited to announce that the “Turner at Twilight” activities will be in fullswing starting this month! This new programming is geared towards the baby boomer generation, but all Turner Center members are welcome to participate in the various activities we have planned. Most of this new programming will take place in the early evenings during the week or on Saturdays to accommodate individuals who may still be working. The staff is excited to be offering opportunities for more members to take advantage of the social and educational activities that the Turner Center has to offer. Please feel free to ask us if you would like additional information about “Turner at Twilight.” ~Megan

Give of Yourself Did you hear about the Girl Scout in Oklahoma City who has sold 18,107 boxes of Girl Scout cookies this year? Everyone is wondering how she has sold that many cookies. She said she is persistent and asks everyone she sees to buy a box or two. I will respectfully add that the belief in her cause, the Girl Scouts in this case, motivates her to be so persistent. Over the centuries belief in a cause or purpose has begun wars, cost people their lives, saved peoples lives, and motivated people to raise billions of dollars. Best Health magazine sites giving to others as a way to increase your life expectancy! Do you want to do

that? I certainly do! Take a look at the things you do everyday and find a place in your circle of influence that allows you to give of yourself to others. If you just pay attention, you’ll find a cause you can believe in right in your backyard. You have gifts, talents, time, and resources that you don’t realize you have— SHARE THEM! We here at the Turner Center hope that you will take a step of faith and reach out to help others this year. And, of course, we invite you to explore the opportunities we have for you at FiftyForward. We invite you to join us in a cause that we feel is the most worthy—YOU!

Volunteer News The FiftyForward J.. L. Turner Center staff would like to thank the over 50 volunteers who serve alongside us.
