One of their destinations is the Martin Center to get to know us better and learn about opportunities to make a difference in our communities. CCC-A We have all heard the phrase “Can You Hear Me Now?” Join us for a presentation on hearing loss, effects of hearing loss, the ever changing world of hearing aid technology and realistic expectations with hearing aids. If you or a loved one has a hearing loss, this topic is for you. Communication strategies will be reviewed as well how to tell if you are ready for hearing aids.

The Bill Wilkerson Center opened its doors to help people with hearing health care needs in 1951.

While we work hard to prepare ourselves for retirement in our senior years we may forget, or not know how, to prepare our homes to age with us. Our homes should be a safe haven where we feel comfortable and independent. Unfortunately, the reality is that as we grow older our homes look more like an obstacle course than a place of rest. Trips and Tours Tennessee Performing Arts Center Presents War Horse

Hailed by The New York Times as "theatrical magic, WAR HORSE is the powerful story of young Albert's beloved horse, Joey, who has been enlisted to fight for the English in World War I. In a tale the New York Daily News calls "spellbinding, turns epic and intimate," Joey is caught in enemy crossfire and ends up serving both sides of the war before landing in no man's land. Albert, not old enough to enlist, embarks on a treacherous mission to find his horse and bring him home. What follows is a remarkable tale of courage, loyalty and friendship, filled with stirring music and songs and told with some of the most innovative stagecraft of our time. Tour with Chef Tom Thursday, June 12 at 10:00 Tour Guide: Chef Tom Loftis Nashville State Community College’s Southeast Campus celebrated the construction of two new kitchens that will double the culinary arts program’s capacity. The Culinary Arts A.A.S. degree program prepares students for careers as chefs and culinary professionals in a variety of hospitality businesses. The program includes a core of culinary arts courses which develop cooking skills and provide instruction in purchasing, cost control, sanitation, nutrition, and supervision. Chef Tom will give us a private tour of their state-of-the art industrial kitchen. Perhaps a few surprise samplings. Reservations accepted only with payment. Limited seating.

Elliston Soda Shop and Stuff Galore $ale Friday, June 13 at 10:15 Little has changed at the Elliston Place Soda Shop—Nashville’s oldest continuously operating restaurant in the same location—since it was opened by Lynn Chandler in 1939. The fountain and grill serve up a typical pharmacy/soda shop menu of breakfast, burgers and fries, sundaes, shakes and banana splits; the kitchen serves up a daily changing repast of meat-and-three. After lunch we will travel to the Ladies of Charity located off 23rd Avenue. A relatively new fundraiser for the Ladies of Charity is "Stuff Galore", a large scale indoor yard sale. This sale features vintage jewelry, collectibles, electronics, DVD’s, CD’s promising something for everyone. Reservations accepted only with payment.

In the midst of this scene, Sandy Dumbrowski enters as the new girl in school. It turns out that she and the leader of the Burger Palace Boys gang, Danny Zuko, had a brief love affair the summer before. As the show goes on, the students at Rydell High have to deal with love, gang violence, teen pregnancy and friendship. Friday, July 11 at 10:45 There are a million reasons not to like realtor Oren Little (Michael Douglas), and that's just the way he likes it. Willfully obnoxious to anyone who might cross his path, he wants nothing more than to sell one last house and retire in peace and quiet until his estranged son suddenly drops off a granddaughter (Sterling Jerins) he never knew existed and turns his life upside-down. Presenting Sponsor: BancorpSouth Venue Sponsor: Jackson Life About Melinda Doolittle: Melinda Doolittle became a household name on America’s most watched stage, A merican Idol. Though she sustained a successful career as a backup singer prior to “Idol”, Melinda captivated millions of viewers week after week with her indelible vocals and assured them that she was a stand-out soloist. Upon the release of her debut album, The New Y ork Times hailed Melinda as one of the most “phenomenally gifted” singers of our time. In 2013 alone Ms. Doolittle was featured on 5 Studio albums including her sophomore release Y ou’re The Reason. Other contributions include; Gloria Gaynor’s W e W ill Survive, Everybody Has A Story and Lift Every Voice: the Songs of James Weldon Johnson. 2. Thursday, June 5 at Noon, Procare will be in the building to clean carpets. Please take caution walking from wet carpet to tile floors. We will have warning signs posted the day of the cleaning.
