TEAM OF THE WEEK: TEXAS LONGHORNS Texas pulled off a massive win Saturday beating No. 7 Oklahoma 48-45 in the Red River Rivalry. Texas went up early in the first quarter and was up 21 points at the end of the third. Though Oklahoma responded with three touchdowns in six minutes to tie the game, Texas marched down the field and won the game with a 40-yard field goal. No. 9 Texas will head home to face Baylor.

In the seventh week of the 2010 season, Texas went into No. 5 Nebraska’s house and beat the Huskers 20-13. The game was a slugfest as both offenses struggled to move the ball through the air. The running game was a different story as the Longhorns ran for over 200 yards against the Cornhuskers and scored two touchdowns. Nebraska scored on a 95-yard punt return to make it close late in the game but Texas was able to run the clock out and close the game out with a victory.

In this episode, Notre Dame beat Miami, 31-30, in a back-and-forth classic. Notre Dame used three interceptions and an effective passing game to complement the dominant running game to end the Hurricanes’ 36-game winning streak.

FIESTA BOWL CHARITIES The application period for Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers is now closed. On October 25, Wishes for Teachers will give out up to $1 million to 200 teachers during the first-ever Wishes for Teachers Draft Day. Prominent members of the Arizona community will pick at random and 200 teachers will be called and congratulated on receiving $5,000 to fulfill their classroom wish.
