Grand Marshals FIESTA BOWL FOUNDERS With an effort that started late in 1968, a group headed by advertising executive Glenn Hawkins, newspaper public relations director Bill Shover, hotelier Jack Stewart, lawyer Don Meyers, media executive Karl Eller, stockbroker Jim Meyer, Coca-Cola general manager George Taylor, banker George Isbell and accountant Don Dupont began their mission to bring a college bowl game to Arizona. After several presentations to the NCAA, their persistence paid off on April 26, 1971, when the NCAA Council approved a bowl game in Arizona and the Fiesta Bowl was born. Jim Meyer, Don Meyers and Bill Shover will represent the Founders down the Parade route.
