AT THE HEART OF THE FIESTA BOWL ORGANIZATION IS FIESTA BOWL CHARITIES. Since 1971, Fiesta Bowl Charities has had the fortunate opportunity to serve thousands of charities across the state, giving back to organizations that work tirelessly to serve our community while focusing on our core pillars of youth, sports and education. From football field donations, playground builds and food distribution to player outreach, volunteerism and Fiesta Bowl Wishes for Teachers, we have had the pleasure of collaborating with many incredible non-profit organizations by giving back to those in need. This past season marks a monumental achievement for our organization. We granted more than $2 million to 75 charities and provided 100 Arizona teachers with a $5,000 wish grant to put back into their classrooms. We are excited to see where our continued growth will take us in future seasons. None of this would be possible without the support of our amazing fans, partners, volunteers, board, committee, ambassadors, and staff.

This year, Spirit celebrated his birthday at the Jerry Colangelo Boys & Girls Club in Phoenix. Kids from 10 local clubs played flag football under the lights! Special appearances from every professional and collegiate Arizona mascot made Spirit’s first birthday one to remember. In partnership with Dick’s Sporting Goods, each child left the birthday party with goodies and new sports equipment for their club.

What’s the craziest thing you have ever done? Last year I rapelled off a skyscraper overlooking downtown Phoenix!

T H E

That sounds like a lot of fun. Other than playing sports, what do you like to do in your spare time? Reading! My favorite book is Spirit’s Big Day. It’s all about the best day of the year — GAME DAY!

O F

Speaking of football, I heard that you had fun competing with some of the Fiesta Bowl athletes and mascots this year. Is that true? Oh yeah! I had push up contests with both the Clemson Tigers and Ohio State Buckeyes student-athletes and I beat them all! It was on Facebook Live for the world to see. I can do 1,971 in a row.

F A C E

Wow! That’s a lot! Which one was your favorite? That’s easy, my birthday party! All of my friends came to play my favorite sport with 120 kids from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Phoenix. We had a ball! Seriously, we played football.

“ T H E

How many community events did you attend in 2016? 118! I’ve been busy.

If you were not the mascot for the Fiesta Bowl, what would you do as your profession? A meteorologist, that way it would be sunny year-round!
