Remember, the correct matching of front and rear tyres is impor tant to obtain optimum per formance and handling. Follow the Tyre Selection guidelines. Mount only tyres marked “front wheel” on the front position and only tyres marked “rear wheel” on the rear position.

A new front tyre with a worn rear tyre can cause instability.

Never use a Dunlop motorcycle tyre that has been retreaded (recapped). Such tyres are remanufactured products for which Dunlop’s new tyre testing and cer tifications are voided.

Dunlop motorcycle tyres are not designed for retreadability (recappability), nor will Dunlop be responsible for any retread process or per formance. Never use a Dunlop motorcycle tyre that has been modified by the removal or addition of any material by tread grooving, siping, grinding or contouring, nor with any inlays or raised features (e.g., lettering) of any kind.

Such tyres are remanufactured products for which Dunlop’s new tyre testing and cer tifications are voided.

MOTORCYCLE MAINTENANCE

Dunlop strongly recommends regular inspection of the motorcycle generally, and of wheels in par ticular, because tyre mileage and per formance are adversely affected by a poorly maintained vehicle. Advise your customers to bring their motorcycles to the motorcycle dealer for regular maintenance checks, inclusive of tyre inspections.

Advise your customers to maintain suspension settings in strict compliance with vehicle owner ’s manual. Improperly maintained components and incorrect or unbalanced front fork pressures will affect stability. Low suspension pressure will generate excessive tyre stresses.

OFF ROAD

CHOOSING THE RIGHT TYRE

Determine the overall track conditions including the star ting line • • • • •

If the ground is dr y and hard to the point where it does not break up when you kick it, you should consider a tyre with a hard pack tread pattern like Dunlop’s Geomax MX7 1.

If the conditions var y from hard-packed to loose loam, you’ll likely will want an intermediate terrain tyre like Dunlop’s MX53F front & MX53 rear or a combination.

If the ground has a cushion to it, rutted with soft berms, you probably need a soft terrain tyre that will penetrate through the loose soil. Dunlop’s MX33 is an excellent choice.

If the conditions are strictly soft deep sand or mud, you might consider a specialty tyre like the New MX12.

Let the dominant condition dictate your choice after considering the star t section.

Don’ t be afraid to mix off-road t yre patterns front and rear to feel more comfor table.

M U L T I T R E A D ( M T ) T E C H N O L O G Y is our latest innovation. Years of success in global

Superbike & Endurance racing have resulted in the development of a pioneering multi compound, which is transferred to many of our Spor tmax street & track products. The central traction compound contacts the road when the motorcycle is upright . It uses a tougher cooler running compound that maintains straight-line stability, traction, braking and most impor tantly longer tread life. The lateral compound that contacts the road when the motorcycle is leaning over incorporates a rubber compound specifically developed to enhance grip at maximum lean angles.

CARCASS TENSION CONTROL SYSTEM

Many of our front and rear tyre constructions use a Carcass Tension Control System (CTCS) to control carcass stress distribution. This optimises the tension in different areas of the casing, improving cornering stability, straight-line traction and rider feedback so that you can ride with confidence.
