Greetings, FIBC Members and Friends,
Hopefully, you and yours experienced a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend 2024. Sixteen FIBC members participated in the Annual Deacon DeWoody McClinton Memorial Day Hike at the South Mountain Trailhead at 19th Avenue. The hikers’ ages ranged from four to 72, including three families with children. Let me confess that age is taking its toll on your Senior Pastor as it took me a little more time to recover than in recent years
May ended on a high note with the 58th Annual Robert N. Nesby Scholarship Ministry Convocation on Sunday, May 19. Thanks to the generosity of you in our weekly tithes and offerings as well as special scholarship benefactors, we were able to give nearly $30,000.00 in scholarships to members who are seeking academic achievement. In addition, we recognized graduates from kindergarten to university level. To God be the glory! It is also my prayer that our Sunday messages addressed our May Focus on our 2024 FIBC Theme THANK YOU, LORD, FOR OUR JOURNEY TOGETHER STRENGTHENING FAMILIES ON CHANGING TIMES!
Our 2024 FIBC Theme Focus for this month is—THANK YOU, LORD, FOR OUR JOURNEY TOGETHER BY INVOLVING YOUNG PEOPLE WHO HAVE MUCH TO OFFER! Hopefully, you have noticed we are intentionally lowering the average age of our FIBC Staff, especially relating to pastoral and ministry positions It is both spiritual and strategic to include servant leaders of younger generations to enhance our present and future as a pastor and people. We will continue as a church family by teaching from my book in June, Our Values as a Pastor and People: The Bible Study, on Sundays, 9:30 a m Please consider joining us in our combined Sunday Bible Studies Class in The Hope Center gym.
Remember to stay cool and hydrated as our daily 100+ degree temperatures for the next fourplus months.
Keep the faith and be encouraged!
Pastor Stewart
