Ever since the announcement of a sequel to “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” was released fans have been on the edge of their seats waiting for trailers, leaks and behindthe-scenes information just to see Lara Jean and Peter together again.

The 6etfl ix original, “To )ll the *oys I’ve Loved Before” was released Aug. 17, 2018. The movie has since received two MTV awards and a Guild of Music Supervisors award for Best Music Supervision in a Television Limited Series or Movie. It also received 97% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“I watched the movie because it was all over Instagram,” sophomore Cooper Cunningham said. “I think any 6etfl ix original, including »To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before,’ is a bit overhyped in its own sense.”

The fi rst movie tells the tale of Lara Jean’s life as her secret love letters written for her deepest crushes get sent out. Five love letters to fi ve diff erent guys leads Lara Jean into a storm of emotions and strange situations. To avoid the recipients of the letters and to make 8eter’s ex-girlfriend Realous, Lara Jean and Peter start dating, but slowly start to develop real feelings for each other.

“I personally really liked the fi rst movie a lot,” senior Zoie Soehngen said. “I felt like it really told a story about how many teenage girls feel. The storyline was one that the viewers could relate to easily and on a more personal level.”

The main characters are Lana Condor as Lara Jean Song Covey and Noah Centineo as Peter Kavinsky, who play the main love interests in the movie. Condor and Centineo are returning for the second installment of the fi lm “8.S. I Still 4ove You” joined by Jordan Fisher, who plays John Ambrose McClaren.

In the second movie, one of the love letter recipients, John Ambrose McClaren, responds and begins to take an interest in Lara Jean as she is still with Peter. This puts the three in a love triangle to see who will win Lara Jean’s heart.

The trailer for “P.S. I Still Love You” can be found on 6etfl ix’s offi cial website, and the movie is scheduled to be released on Feb. 12. The third installment of the series was confi rmed on +entineo’s Instagram on Aug. 15. “Always and Forever Lara Jean” is already being fi lmed. The release date is yet to be determined.

“I’m excited to see where the movie goes,” Soehngen said. “I hope it’s as good as the last movie, if not better because the last one struck interest when I saw it.”

The movies are based on a book series written by Jenny Han. “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” was released in 2014, “P.S. I Still Love You” was released in 2015 and “Always and Forever Lara Jean” was released in 2017.

“Small things were diff erent from the books to the movies like arguments and more in-depth details about the families,” sophomore Cassidy Miller said. “The movie did capture the same essence as the books which was a pleasant surprise.”

The book series, like the movies, has won many awards like Young Adult 2015–2016 Asian/ 8acifi c )merican )ward for 4iterature and 21 Pennsylvania Young Reader’s Choice Award. The book series is available at Hamilton East Public Library for check out and is also available for purchase on Amazon for around $10. 7he secRQd ERRN iQ the triORJ\ aQd the sRXrce PateriaO IRr the seTXeO retaiOs IRr Photo by Kristen Rummel.
