Science is green, history is orange, math is blue and English is red and here’s why

There’s been a debate recently about which color each school subject should be. While I could write my personal opinions, I think it would be more interesting to read about the science behind the choices. Now, buckle your seat belts and prepare to get into an argument with someone nearby.
Science is green, simple as that. Most science classes have to do with life or the world. The color green is most commonly associated with nature, growth and balance, all of which can be translated into the sciences.
Next is history, the toss-up subject. For me, history gets whichever folder is left over. It’s usually either orange, yellow or purple. First off, many historical documents have an orangish tint and orange is associated with courage and vitality. It’s not as happy as yellow or as aggressive as red, instead a mix of both being more adventurous and exploratory.
While blue is known for being a calming color, it is also connected with logic and stability. Not everyone might feel calm while trying to figure out how to use the quadratic formula, but there is a sense of trust in math because there is always an equation or rule that tells you what to do. Whatever the reason, logic says that math is blue because logic is too.
Finally, English. It’s almost as much of a toss-up as history. People view
English very differently, some see it as an opportunity to tell stories and enter new worlds. Others see it as a class filled with vocabulary and forced reading. Red is English because it’s the color of energy, passion and strength but can also be seen as one of hatred or intensity.
Hopefully this article will have started at least one conversation somewhere. Keep in mind that you can really justify any color for any subject, even if you think science is red.
NO FOUR-DAY SCHOOL WEEK
A four day school week. If people think about it, it sounds like a great idea. Another day to work on any homework and more time with friends and family or to just relax and take a day to wind down.
If we keep our current schedule and take away one day, it would add about two hours to a school day or make the school year longer. This could mean more stress for students because they’re in school for a longer period of time.
Some kids aren’t old enough to stay home by themselves and parents and guardians tend to work during the school day so guardians would need to find supervision. That means that they might need to take up more shifts or even get a second job to pay for that which takes away the appeal of being able to spend time with friends and family.
