Share your page
The challenge is all about raising funds for Friends of the Holy Land so we can help Christian communities through the pandemic and keep children at their schools. So remember to share your fundraising page far and wide! Post it on Facebook, send the link to your family and friends and announce your challenge in church. They can sponsor you online at any time before, during or after your challenge.
What to see on your virtual journey
It’s not possible to complete a real pilgrimage through the Holy Land right now, so let us be your virtual guide. You will get a taste of the holy sites and discover some rarely-visited Christian communities living along the route that most people drive straight past.
How? As you complete enough miles you’ll pass certain waypoints on the map, like Jerusalem, Ramallah and Nablus. You’ll receive special emails with stories and videos from the Christian communities in that area. For instance, as you near Nazareth, you’ll hear from a church leader in Zababdeh about what life is like there and how his church serves the community.
The more you walk, the more you’ll discover – and the more lives you’ll impact.
A prayer for the journey
As you exercise around your neighbourhood or explore your Holy Land route online, why not pray a Pentecost prayer:
Children in a classroom at School of Joy
“We pray for the children of the Holy Land and their families; that the Holy Spirit will bring hope and breathe new life into their hearts as they enter a second year of the pandemic.”
THANK YOU so much for taking on the Pentecost Challenge! Your efforts will help us keep vulnerable children at their schools across the Holy Land – and stop the pandemic stealing their future.
