L’Arche Bethlehem -
Ma’an lil-Hayat
Ma’an lil-Hayat (Together for Life) is the first and only community project in Palestine that brings together people with and without intellectual disabilities to engage in creative textile-arts activities and share daily life together. Members of Ma’an lil-Hayat use the wool of Bethlehem sheep to make felted wool ornaments, nativity scenes, and other unique gift items. The raw wool is purchased from women shepherds in a village on the outskirts of Bethlehem.

Nabeel Baboun
Nabeel has been carving olive wood pieces since 1973. Nabeel is a skilled wood turner and has passed on his skills and love of wood turning to his son, who is now working with him.
The olive wood products are carved or turned from wood that must be dried for at least a year before using. Traditionally the wood comes from pruning the olive trees, ensuring environmental sustainability.

Sahar Alsayegh
Sahar is from Gaza and has a 15-year old son, Ramzi. After the first few days of war in October 2023, Sahar and Ramzi took shelter at the Church of the Holy Family. In April they were able to get to Egypt and are now finding ways to support themselves. Sahar and a group of other women from Gaza made these bookmarks. By buying these bookmarks, you will be directly helping these refugees from Gaza make a new life for themselves.
