WITH ADM I RATION AND AFFECTION WE DEDICATE.

We programed the computer for friendliness, consideration, thoughtfulness, interest in v,,orld affairs, school and enthusi­ asm for life. The digital computer acted on the information receivE?d and come out with a "real swinger."

We've never seen this man without either a smile on his face or a newspaper clipping in hjs hand. He tokes a personal interest in his students and hos helped many with problems. He's never too busy to send an amusing or encouraging note with what has become his personal trade­ mark ..• the smiling cartoon foce. His classes include history and contemporary affairs which he makes both informative and interesting for his students who respect and admire him. He has been at Claremont High School for ten years �md for seven of these years he has coached the golf team. He likes people and people like him.

SUPERINTENDENT'S MESSAGE As this 1966-67 school year ends, it is often easy for a graduate to view his termination from high school as the end to many enriching personal-as -well as academic-experiences. But if you take with you the prerequisites necessary for continued growth your graduation will merely be the springboard to greater challenges and endeavors.

Unlike personal growth, which is often gained only by hit-or-miss interactions with another person, academic growth cannot be accomplish­ ed without education, determination and perseverance.

I am not saying that everyone must be a college graduate in order to attain this growth. I om however, saying that you must educate yourself in your chosen profe'ssion-know oil there is to know about it-perfect your skills!

As you read through your Annual and reflect back over your high school days in the years ahead I am hopeful that this volume will recall memorable experiences to you. I would hope that the time spent at Claremont High School was educationally stimulating and profitable not only becOtJse of academic pursuits but from social activities as well. Collectively as students and faculty, we have initiated a high school program that is indeed unique and unusual. This program can provide on atmosphere for student indi­ viduality and challenge if students desire to toke full advantage of.the many opportunities available.

I have been increasingly impressed with the capabilities and varied interests of Students at Claremont and particularly their desire for knowledge and understanding of a complex sometimes frustrating world. I would hope that you continue to capitalize on your educational investment over the coming years; your ability to challenge and inquire into problems imaginatively will be limited only by your lack of desire to be truly educated individuals.

The leother-lungen held up the "Home of the Champions" motto fOf" CloremOl'lt this year. The 26-1 win-l�s record exceeds even Chino, our biggest rival in distance running. Bony Fisher, the team's outstanding runner, was the winner of the "Leather-Lunger'' award fOf" his record of fi�t place in every dual meet and high placement in the invitationals this year. By no means was it a one man team, though. The rest of the Varsity teom hod times very close t o Bar ry 's which accounts for the numerous perfect scores. Doug Bowe ond Jon LinM finished within 20 yards of Barry in some meets.

The J. V, and Fr�h-Soph teams hod many perfect scores and both hod perfect records thi1 year, winning the S.A,L. title in those divisions for C.H. S.

The ovtstoriding squocl on theWaterpolo team this year w� the Bees. Through continuous effort oncl teom wark, they were able to make a 9 3 - record and were defected only once during league games.

The Cee squocl finished with o 6-5 record.

Although the Varsity team hod o poor record,

they ployed all their games with good spirit.
