Critical Information Regarding 2022 P a s s i o n P l a y To u r s a n d C r u i s e s Oberammergau’s Passion Play was scheduled to take place in 2020. We had contracted for 3,600 Passion Play Tickets and Hotels in Oberammergau. We arranged tours and cruises that would include the Passion Play. We completely sold out all of our Passion Play Tours and Cruises for 2020. Then the Covid pandemic caused the postponement of the Passion Plays until 2022. Many of our passengers requested to move their Passion Play Tour or Cruise credit to 2021 instead of waiting to 2022. However, with the continuation of the Covid pandemic, most were not able to travel in 2021 and ended up having to move to 2022 anyway, leaving little to no space on most of our Passion Play Tours and Cruises. We were able to get a few groups out this year on the Danube River and the Volga River cruises, this freed up a few hundred Passion Play tickets. Below you will find a list of the tours that we were able to add using these tickets. • The Exotic Danube Passion Play Cruise and Tour: Sails between Budapest and Romania. The cruise includes the countries of Hungary, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania. In addition to the cruise we will also tour Romania. Romania, with its history and wonderful unique castles, it is one of our favorite countries in Europe. With the addition of the Oberammergau Passion Play – this is likely the best Passion Play option. • Italy Passion Play Tour: Our best and most complete Italy we have ever offered. From the Dolomite Mountains in the Italian Alps, to the canals of Venice, to the beautiful coastal cities of Cinque Terre and Sorrento, to the tiny country of San Moreno, to the majestic cities of Florence, Pisa and Rome. It is Italy at its best. Add Germany and the Passion Play and this tour is a homerun. • The Holy Lands, Israel & Egypt Passion Play Tour: The Passion Play is a spiritual experience, that combines perfectly with the spiritual experience you have when you visit Egypt and Israel. It is the best combination, giving you an experience of a lifetime. • Romantic Danube Passion Play Tour: The upper Danube is Europe’s most popular river to cruise. The cruise includes the countries of Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary, visiting cities like Salzburg, Vienna and Budapest. In addition to this wonderful cruise we have added a land package to Prague in the Czech Republic, along with cities in Germany and the Passion Play. It’s no wonder this is the most popular cruise destination in Europe. Before we had to cancel all of our 2020 Passion Play Tours and Cruises, we had 12 groups scheduled on Romantic Danube Cruises that included Oberammergau and its Passion Play. In comparison, we had 4 Rhine River Groups that included Oberammergau and its Passion Play. The Romantic Danube includes so many great cities and places to visit: • Prague, Czech Republic: Has over 1,000 years of history. It competes as one of the top cities in Europe to visit. The massive Prague Castle, along with Prague’s many unique bridges over the Vitava River and its old town that is a UNESCO World Heritage Site will be a huge highlight. • Salzburg, Austria: A beautiful picturesque city with its massive Hohensalzburg Fortress high above the rooftops of the historic district. It is the biggest fully preserved castle in Central Europe. Add the “Sound of Music”, Wolfgang Mozart, along with the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town and you have a city that needs to be at the top of your bucket list. • Munich, Germany: The old town with its impressive Marienplatz square, has been the center of Munich since the 12th century. It is the Bavarian Capital, home to centuries-old buildings and the history that involves Mad King Ludwig and his family. • Neuschwanstein Castle: We plan to see this fairytale-like castle, often referred to as the Disney Castle. The fairytale look of the Neuschwanstein castle inspired Walt Disney to create the Magic Kingdom Castle. • Austrian Lake District: One of the most beautiful picturesque areas in the world. • Vienna, Austria: Its artistic and intellectual legacy as shaped by residents including Mozart, Beethoven and Sigmund Freud. The city is also known for its Imperial Palaces, including the Schonbrunn Palace that we will visit. • Budapest, Hungary: Split by the Danube River Buda on one side and Pest on the other, became known as Budapest. Another beautiful city with so much to see and experience. One of the biggest highlights will be viewing the city after dark on the Danube River as the whole city lights up. • Oberammergau, Germany: Simply put – this is the highlight of highlights in 2022 with its once in a lifetime Passion Play. We made our reservations for our 4-Star Deluxe Hotels and for the BEST seating for the Passion Play in 2016. With the postponement of the Passion Play from 2020 to 2022, our special reservations were kept in place for 2022!

This might be the ultimate experience; the study of Christ through the Holy Lands combined with Oberammergau’s Passion Play. We have designed this special tour to include the BEST of the Holy Lands, along with Oberammergau’s wonderful Passion Play. It has so much to offer. You will attend the wonderful Passion Play in Oberammergau and to top it all off you will spend a week walking where Jesus walked in Israel. The icing on the cake is the addition of Jordan and Egypt. A chance to do all of this on one trip only happens every 10 years. This once in a lifetime tour of Israel will visit many sites that other tours miss, some even leave off Bethlehem. Our special Holy Land tour includes all of the important sites in Israel such as Jerusalem, Garden Tomb, Galilee, Bethlehem, Masada, the Dead Sea, and more. It also includes Petra in Jordan. We will also be doing a fantastic Egypt tour & Nile Cruise that includes: Cairo, the Pyramids, King Tut’s Treasures in the Cairo Museum, Luxor, Karnack Temple (more impressive than the Pyramids), Luxor Temple, a three-night luxury cruise on the Nile and so much more. This once in a lifetime tour will visit many sites that others are not able to see when they go to Israel. For example; the City of Lehi excavations, located a short distance down from Jerusalem. This is where caves were discovered with writings on the inside walls. It was determined that the writings were by a prophet in hiding that dates approx. 600 BC. The Arabs have considered the hill above the cave to be a sacred place. As they put it – “before Mohamed there was a great prophet named Lehi and he taught from that hill.” Even the archaeologists in Jerusalem now call the area Beit Lehi. We do not know if this is our Lehi, but we do know this will be a huge highlight as you visit an active archaeological dig. The excavations are on an army base. Only those excavating and Fun For Less Tours have been given permission to go onto the site.

This special tour will allow those that want to visit the Rome Temple and the Paris Temple to do a session in both Temples. We will have two days in Rome and two days in Paris. In addition to the few hours you spend at the LDS temples, there will be time to visit the most important tourist sites in Rome and Paris.

Here is a little information on the Rome Temple:

The resplendent interior of the Rome Italy Temple features beautiful Italian-quarried Perlato Svevo marble on surfaces throughout the building, including floors, walls, and countertops. Magnificent floor work is featured in the baptistery and grand foyer, which reflects Michelangelo’s design at the Piazza del Campidoglio on top of Rome’s Capitoline Hill. The pattern is also seen in the sculpted off-white carpets in the Celestial and sealing rooms. The majesty of the temple is further reflected in the choice of artwork, stained glass, crown moldings, and other furnishings and finishes. The complex includes a wonderful Visitors Center that will include reproductions of Bertel Thorvaldsen’s Christus statue and the twelve apostles. The originals were sculpted in Rome and transported to Copenhagen in 1838 to stand in the National Cathedral of Denmark.
