RESULTS DAY PROCEDURE
Accessing your results
• Youwillbeabletoaccessyourresultsviahttps://candidates.ibo.org/ at 1345 (GMT)/1445 hours (BST) on 6th July. Use Mozilla Firefox to view yourresults.
• TheIBproducesahelpfulResultsGuideforcandidates.Thiscanbefound whenyoulogintotheIBCandidateswebpage.
• Makesureyouhaveyouruniquepersonalidentificationnumber(PIN)athand (emailedtoyoubyMsGueganton),otherwiseyouwillnotbeabletocheckyour results. Enteryourdetailsmanuallyastheyarecasesensitive.
• Componentgradesdetailingyourcourseworkmark(s)areavailableat approximately 1200 (BST) on 7th July. ThesewillbeemailedtoyoubyMs Gueganton(IBCoordinator).
• Gradeboundariesarereleasedatapproximately 1200 (BST) on 7th July.These willbeputontotheIBResultsFireflyPage(linkedabove).
Re-mark requests
Before asking for a re-mark, otherwise known as an Enquiry Upon Results (EUR), please wait until:
1.Thecomponentgrades(includingcourseworkgrades(IAs))andgradeboundariesare publishedat1200(BST)on7thJulyasanyEnquiryUponResults(EUR)mustbeinformedby thecomponentgradedata;and
2.YouhavespokentotheHeadofDepartmentofthesubjectinquestion,orMsGuegantonif relatedtoToKortheEE. Be aware that your mark could go up, down or remain the same.
• Youcanrequestare-markofanyexternallyassessedmaterialsforasubject.If youdothis, all thewrittenexaminationpapersaswellasanyexternally assessedIAs(coursework)arere-marked. You cannot ask for only specific papers/coursework to be looked at again.
• Youcanrequestare-markoftheExtendedEssayandToKessay.
• Internallyassessedworkcannotbechallengedonanindividualbasis
To request a re-mark you need to do the following:
• Completethe Category 1 Consent Form below andreturntoMs

• Payment of the re-mark fee (£76 per subject) canbemadevia https://payment.flywire.com/pay/payment.Pleasesendascreenshotofthe paymentconfirmationwithyourConsentFormsoyourre-markcanbe processedASAP.
• Whilethefinaldateforare-markrequestis15thSeptember,westrongly recommendthattheserequestsaresubmittedassoonaspossibleandbyFriday 11thJulyastheycantakeuptothreeweekstoprocess(18workingdays).
November Exam Session
• Thedeadlineforapplyingtore-sitanIBexaminNovemberis 29th July.
• Itcosts£101toregisterfortheNovembersessionand£74persubject.
• Ifitseemslikelythatsittingtheexamsisneeded,youshouldrequest registrationandthenwithdrawifitislaternotneededbecauseauniversity placehasbeensecured.Ifyouwithdrawafter29thJuly,youstillhavetopaythe fees.
• ItissometimesthecasethatthedecisiontositexamsinNovemberdepends upontheoutcomeofare-mark.Itcanhappenthatrequestsforre-marking examsarenotbackbeforethedeadlinefortheNovemberexamsessionentries. Iftheeventualoutcomeofthere-markissuccessfulandthegradegoesup,the IBwillrefundanycostsincurred.
• PreviouslyachievedcourseworkmarkscanbecarriedforwardforNovember re-sits.
• Youcansitexamsinuptothreeexamsessions.Thebestscoreyouachievein anysinglesubjectinanysinglesessioniswhatgoesonyourDiploma(superscoresystem).Therefore,are-sitcannotresultinalowergrade,onlyahigher one.
• Toaskforare-sit,youneedtoemailMsGueganton(S.Gueganton@fettes.com) andrequesttoberegisteredfortheNovemberexamsandspecifywhich subject(s)youwishtore-sit.Again,paymentofthefeesmustbemade promptlytotheaccountsdepartment(accounts@fettes.com)toallowthe requesttobeprocessed.

The following information explains what may happen following an enquiry upon results of a subject.
Ifanenquiryabouttheresultofoneofyoursubjectsismadeafteryoursubjectgradehas beenissued,therearethreepossibleoutcomes:
o Youroriginalmarkisconfirmedascorrect,andthereisnochangetoyourgrade
o Youroriginalmarkisraisedsothatyourfinalgrademaybehigherthanthe originalgradeyoureceived
o Youroriginalmarkisloweredsothatyourfinalgrademaybelowerthanthe originalgradeyoureceived

Results Day
IBresultsareavailableat 14.45 (BST) on 6 July.Pleasefollowthedetailsabovefor accessingthese.
• If you have qualified for your place,youwillreceiveconfirmationfromUCAS and/ortheuniversityinduecourse.PleasekeepaneyeonyourTrackaccount butdonotworryifthistakesalittletime.Youdonotneedtodoanythinguntil Trackoryouruniversityasksyouto.
• Deferred Entry/ Change of Details: ifyouwanttochangeyourdateofentryor negotiateachangetoanothercourse,youshouldcontacttheuniversitydirectly. Ifyouwanttonegotiateagapyearbuttheuniversitysaystheywantyoutostart in2025,pleasethinkcarefullyabouttheimplicationsofthemessagetheyare sendingout.Youmayhavequalifiedfortheplaceoffered,butyoumaynothave matchedyourpredictions.Thinkverycarefullyabouttheimplicationsof withdrawing.Anyweaknessesinyourachievementwillbeapparent,ona reapplication,andyourchancesofgettingasecondofferfor2026forthesame universitymaybeindoubt.Considerdeferringyourgapyearuntilafteryou havegraduated.
• If you have not qualified for your place, youmaywanttocontactyouruniversities directlytofindoutwhetherthereisanychanceofyourplacebeingconfirmed. Thatsaid,ringinguniversitiesforinformationwhichisalreadyavailableon Trackisn’tagoodidea.
• Ifyouhaven’tmettheconditionsforeitherofferbuthave been offered a change of course or year,thiswillbeindicatedonTrack.Youarenotobligedtoaccept this.YouroptionswillbeshownonTrack.
• Ifyouhavefailedtoqualifyforeithercourseand have received confirmation that your universities have rejected you:youareeligibleforClearing.Accessto ClearingisthroughTrack.Ifyoudecidetotakeagapyearandre-applyfor 2026,thenpleaseletMrsCarolineDavies(CL.Davies@fettes.com)know.
• Ifyouhavefailedtoqualifyforeitheruniversitybut neither has recorded a decision on Track: ringyouruniversitiesbutbepreparedtobepatient.Youmay notgetaquickreply.Ifyouhavebeencarefulenoughtokeepaphonenumber whichgivesyoudirectaccesstoadepartment,phonethem.Theydonotwant tohearfromyourparentsorfromtheschool.UCASanduniversitieswill discussyourapplicationonlywithyouorwiththepersonyouhavenominated onyourUCASform.
• Ifyouhaveappliedforare-markaspertheinstructionsabove,ringyour universityimmediatelytoletthemknow.Donotwaitfortheoutcomeofthe appeal/re-markasre-markscantakesometimetocomethroughanditmight bebettertolookforaplaceinClearingratherthanwait.
• Commitment at Confirmation: youareexpectedtohonouryourcommitmentsat Confirmation.Ifyouareplacedatauniversity,youmusttakeuptheplaceor withdrawcompletelyfromthisyear’scycle.Youdonothavearighttoturn downanofferforwhichyouhavequalifiedandthendealwithanyother institutionwhichrecruitsthroughUCAS.
• Ifyouhavenotqualifiedforeitherplacebutneverthelesshaveaplace confirmed,pleaselet Mrs Davies know by email. Apartfromanyother considerations,it’sacourtesytoallthestaffwhohavegivenyouagood referencetolettheschoolknowyou’vegotaplace–andwecancongratulate you!
Reapplication for 2026 entry
• If you decide to re-apply to university next year it is most important that you let Mr Smith rf.smith@fettes.comknowassoonaspossible.Youmustregisterthrough Fettesusingthebuzzword(industria826)ifyouwantareferencefromus.We donotsupplyreferencesforindependentapplications.
• Be prepared to re-write your Personal Statement.Althoughyoucanuseyour previousPersonalStatement,arepetitionofthisyear’spersonalstatementwill suggestthatyouarenotsufficientlymotivatedtoimproveyourchancesof gainingaplace.Thestructurefornextyear’spersonalstatementisalsodifferent. YoushouldpaytheUCASfeebycardonlineasyourapplicationwillnotbe processeduntilthishasbeendone.Thelateryouleavere-application,theless likelyitisthatyouwillachievetheplaceyouwant.Wecannotguaranteethat last-minuteapplicationswillreachUCASbythepublisheddeadline.Thesame appliestolateapplicationsforuniversitiesintheUSAandothercountries.
