YouwillreceiveyourALevelExamresultsat 08:00 on 14th August via the iSAMS student portal.Gothewebsite:https://fettes.students.isams.cloud
LoginusingtheAzurebuttonasyouwouldwhenyouenteryourself-reflectionseach term.
YouthengotoProfileandExternalExamsandyouwillseeanExamResultstabon 14th August,whereyourresultswillbevisible.
Werecommendthatyouloginasatest-run1–2daysinadvancejusttocheck everythingisinorderandtotroubleshootanyissuesinadvanceoftheday.Ifyou haveanyissuesloggingin,pleasecontactMrChamberlain: CA.Chamberlain@fettes.com.
Accessing your script
• Itispossibletogetacopyofascriptforapproximately£25.However,someexam boardsnowofferthisserviceforfree.
• IftherequestismadebeforeThursday28thAugust,theboardguaranteestogetthe copybacktoyoubeforethenon-priorityre-markdeadline,allowingtimefora teachertolookatthescripttoseeifithasbeenfairlymarkedbeforedeciding whethertorequestaremark.
Re-mark requests
AllrequestsforappealsmustgothroughtheHeadofDepartmentfirstbeforeDrFrenchis contacted.ThisisbecausetheHeadofDepartmentisbestplacedtoadviseonwhatpapersto requestaremarkonandwhetherNonExaminationAssessments(NEAs)orcoursework shouldbescrutinisedbeforearemarkisinitiated.
Onceyouhavehadthe‘greenlight’fromtheHeadofDepartment,pleasecontactDrFrench whowillbedealingwithallrequestsforaccesstoscriptsandenquiriesaboutresults.You cancontacthimbyemailonexams@fettes.comorbyphone01313116727.
• Ifyouareunhappyabouttheresultofamodule,youcanpaytohaveitre-marked. It costs around £70 per module, andyoucanhaveoneoralloftheexaminedmodulesremarked.Ifyoudowanttohaveamodulere-marked,thestudentmustgiveconsentin writingbeforetherequestcanbesubmittedbecausethemarkmaybeconfirmed, raisedorlowered(seeFormbelow).
• Ifare-markedmodulegoesupagrade,orcausestheoverallresulttogoupbya grade,thennofeewilltakenastheexamboarddoesnotchargeusinsuchcases.
• Ifauniversityplaceisatstake,thereisapriorityre-markserviceavailable.The deadlineforsubmittingrequestsforthisis Thursday 21st August 2025.
• Fornon-essentialre-marks,thedeadlineis Thursday 26th September 2025.
To request a re-mark, you need to do the following:

Ifyourequestareviewoftheoriginalmarking,therearethreepossibleoutcomes:
• Youroriginalmarkislowered,soyourfinalgrademaybelowerthanthe originalgradeyoureceived.
• Youroriginalmarkisconfirmedascorrect,sothereisnochangetoyourgrade.
• Youroriginalmarkisraised,soyourfinalgrademaybehigherthanthe originalgradeyoureceived.
Inordertoproceedwiththereviewofmarking,youmustsigntheformbelow. Thistells theheadofyourschoolorcollegethatyouhaveunderstoodwhattheoutcomemightbe andthatyougiveyourconsenttothereviewofmarkingbeingsubmitted.

• Deferred Entry/ Change of Details: ifyouwanttochangeyourdateofentryor negotiateachangetoanothercourse,youshouldcontacttheuniversitydirectly. Ifyouwanttonegotiateagapyearbuttheuniversitysaystheywantyoutostart in2025,pleasethinkcarefullyabouttheimplicationsofthemessagetheyare sendingout.Youmayhavequalifiedfortheplaceoffered,butyoumaynothave matchedyourpredictions.Thinkverycarefullyabouttheimplicationsof withdrawing.Anyweaknessesinyourachievementwillbeapparent,ona reapplication,andyourchancesofgettingasecondofferfor2026forthesame universitymaybeindoubt.Considerdeferringyourgapyearuntilafteryou havegraduated.
• If you have not qualified for your place, youmaywanttocontactyouruniversities directlytofindoutwhetherthereisanychanceofyourplacebeingconfirmed. Thatsaid,ringinguniversitiesforinformationwhichisalreadyavailableon Trackisn’tagoodidea.
• Ifyouhaven’tmettheconditionsforeitherofferbuthave been offered a change of course or year, thiswillbeindicatedonTrack.Youarenotobligedtoaccept this.YouroptionswillbeshownonTrack.
• Ifyouhavefailedtoqualifyforeithercourseand have received confirmation that
your universities have rejected you:youareeligibleforClearing.Accessto ClearingisthroughTrack.Ifyoudecidetotakeagapyearandre-applyfor 2026,thenpleaseletMrsCarolineDavies(cl.davies@fettes.com)know.
• Ifyouhavefailedtoqualifyforeitheruniversitybut neither has recorded a decision on Track: ringyouruniversitiesbutbepreparedtobepatient.Youmay notgetaquickreply.Ifyouhavebeencarefulenoughtokeepaphonenumber whichgivesyoudirectaccesstoadepartment,phonethem.Theydonotwant tohearfromyourparentsorfromtheschool.UCASanduniversitieswill discussyourapplicationonlywithyouorwiththepersonyouhavenominated onyourUCASform.
• If you have applied for a remark aspertheinstructionsabove,ringyour universityimmediatelytoletthemknow.Donotwaitfortheoutcomeofthe appeal/re-markasre-markscantakesometimetocomethroughanditmight bebettertolookforaplaceinClearingratherthanwait.
• Commitment at Confirmation: youareexpectedtohonouryourcommitmentsat Confirmation.Ifyouareplacedatauniversity,youmusttakeuptheplaceor withdrawcompletelyfromthisyear’scycle.Youdonothavearighttoturn downanofferforwhichyouhavequalifiedandthendealwithanyother institutionwhichrecruitsthroughUCAS.
• If you have not qualified for either place but nevertheless have a place confirmed, please let Mrs Davies know by email. Apartfromanyotherconsiderations,it’sa courtesytoallthestaffwhohavegivenyouagoodreferencetolettheschool knowyou’vegotaplace–andwecancongratulateyou!
Reapplication for 2026 entry
• If you decide to re-apply to university next year it is most important that you let Mr Smith rf.smith@fettes.comknowassoonaspossible.Youmustregisterthrough Fettesusingthebuzzword(industria826)ifyouwantareferencefromus.We donotsupplyreferencesforindependentapplications.
• Be prepared to re-write your Personal Statement.Althoughyoucanuseyour previousPersonalStatement,arepetitionofthisyear’spersonalstatementwill suggestthatyouarenotsufficientlymotivatedtoimproveyourchancesof gainingaplace.Thestructureofthepersonalstatementhasalsochangedfor nextyear’sentry.YoushouldpaytheUCASfeebycardonlineasyour applicationwillnotbeprocesseduntilthishasbeendone.Thelateryouleave re-application,thelesslikelyitisthatyouwillachievetheplaceyouwant.We cannotguaranteethatlast-minuteapplicationswillreachUCASbythepublished deadline.ThesameappliestolateapplicationsforuniversitiesintheUSAand othercountries.
