Campus Community Embraces “New Normal”

Ferrum College campus members began the 2020–2021 academic year in the midst of a “new normal,” which included symptom checking prior to coming to campus, mandated mask use, and social distancing protocols. A hybrid class format of virtual and online instruction was used and the College’s outdoor classroom was also in high demand. Students, faculty, and staff quickly became experts at holding virtual meetings, exercise classes, and student information sessions via Zoom, and recitals and other gatherings were live-streamed to audiences.
