ORCO VALLEY Guarda il passato e ti apparirà il futuro….

Lungo un percorso evolutivo ci sono fasi in cui tutto appare fermo, inventato e per alcuni versi noioso, ma un piccolo sguardo al passato può rimodellare il presente per dargli una spinta su quel tracciato che le foglie del tempo hanno ricoperto, ma che la luce della modernità può portare ancora lontano.

Il mescolarsi di presente e passato ha da sempre aperto lo spazio al futuro e anche nell’arrampicata non può essere diversamente.

Qui stiamo parlando di arrampicata trad, o meglio clean come la battezzò uno dei suoi ideatori Yvon Chouinard che, con l’invenzione degli stopper (nuts), introdusse un ‘arrampicata più ecologica’ e per lo più libera da elementi invasivi come i chiodi.

Un’arrampicata che dava più spazio all’avventura perché ne limitava l’attrezzatura dettando in questo modo nuove regole.

Look to the past and the future will appear...

Along the path of evolution, there are always stages in which everything seems at a standstill, invented, and in some ways, boring. But if we take a quick look at the past, we can reshape the present, giving it a boost along a route that seems covered by the leaves of time, but which the light of modernity can still take a long way.

Mixing past and present has always opened the way for the future, and even when it comes to climbing, it can’t be any other way. We are talking about traditional climbing or better still, clean climbing, as it was called by one of its originators, Yvon Chouinard, who, with the invention of the stopper (nut), brought in a more eco-friendly form of climbing that is freer of invasive elements such as bolts.

Climbing that is more about adventure, since it limits the use of equipment and therefore, brings in new rules.

Fu cosi che l’arrampicata divenne “libera” e per certi versi artistica, visto che interpretava le linee in cui si poteva giocare con queste nuove regole e attrezzature.

Se l’uso dei di Nuts e in seguito dei friend, dava spazio ad un arrampicata più avventurosa e artistica, ne limitava però l’incremento della prestazione sportiva assoluta e Il ritorno all’uso del chiodo: migliorato, perfezionato e divenuto addirittura espanso, fu nuovamente un passaggio obbligato in questo percorso evolutivo dell’arrampicata, che a questo punto divenne più sicura e a tutti gli effetti sportiva.

This is how climbing became “free” and in some ways, artistic, seeing as it interpreted the lines along which these new rules and equipment could be played with.

If the use of nuts and later, friends, made way for a more adventurous and artistic form of climbing, it did limit increases to overall sporting performance and the return to the use of bolts: perfected, improved and even expanded, this has been a new stage in the development of climbing that is now safer and even more sporting.

Le intuizioni di personaggi come Chuinard e Ray Jardine, inventori di nuts, friend e quindi dell’arrampicata clean, riprese ora da arrampicatori moderni arricchiti da un trascorso da atleti, apre lo spazio alla possibilità di vivere nuove avventure e valorizzare terreni che la modernità e la sicurezza a tutti i costi, renderebbe standardizzato e a volte insignificante.

The ideas of characters such as Chuinard and Ray Jardine, the inventors of nuts, friends and therefore, of clean climbing, which is now being used by modern climbers who have a more athletic past, paves the way for new adventures, capitalising on those areas that modernity and safety at all costs would standardise and at times, render insignificant.

Di questa considerazione, gli inglesi ne han fatto tesoro: cosa sarebbe stato il Peak District crivellato di chiodi ad espansione?

Non di certo il mito che da sempre rappresenta…

Con questo non vogliamo dire che il chiodo sia ora da condannare, altrimenti l’arrampicata non avrebbe raggiunto la diffusione che ha tutt’ora, ma piuttosto da riconsiderare per lasciare all’arrampicata e agli arrampicatori un terreno su cui esprimersi modernamente, che come sempre vuol dire l’unione tra passato e presente.

We don’t want to say that bolts are bad.

Without them we would never have reached the widespread use that we have today, but rather that their use should be reconsidered, to leave climbing and climbers an area in which to express themselves in a modern way, which as ever, means the union between past and present.

Falesia del cippotondo Un paio di Km Prima di Noasca raggiungere borgata Fè. Da qui seguire sentiero gta verso valle per 10 min e arrivati a un bellissimo lastricato pedonale (ometto) salire nel bosco 5min in vista della parete 15 min in tutto.

Alcune vie chiodate e svariate possibilità trad.

Immancabili Maximo duty e Suona a morto, liberate da Tom Randal e Pet Withacker

Falesia del Cippotondo A couple of kilometres before Noasca, reach the village of Fè. From here, follow the GTA route towards the valley for 10 minutes and once at a lovely paved pedestrian area (cairn), go up through the woods for 5 min, with the rock wall in view for a total of 15 minutes. Some bolted routes and a variety of trad possibilities. Don’t miss Maximo duty and Suona a morto, freed by Tom Randal and Pet Withacker

Scoglio di Atlantide Da ceresole raggiungere il piazzale dell’ufficio del turismo. Da qui percorrere la passeggiata che costeggia il lago. Appena possibile scendere all’interno del bacino. Lo scoglio è l’avancorpo che precede la falesia di “atlantide” Su entrambe le strutture è possibile arrampicare solo quando il bacino viene svuotato dall’acqua ovvero tra Novembre e aprile... Numerose anche le possibilità di bouldering. Un esperienza unica Falesia di Coktails Party Dal Rifugio Mila percorrere la strada che costeggia il lato destro del bacino di Ceresole, dopo un Km e mezzo sulla destra parte il sentiero GTA per il Rifugio Leonesi, percorrerlo per 10 minuti la falesia si trova sulla destra. Un paio di vie chiodate e svariate possibilità trad. Davantididiedro (6c) e Ferro per niente (7a+) sono le due evidenti linee che partono sopra alla panchina 8

Scoglio di Atlantide From Ceresole, go to the square at the tourist office. Continue along the route alongside the lake. As soon as possible, get down into the lake basin. The rock is the front before the “Atlantide” crag. On both structures, climbing is only possible when there is no water in the basin, which is between November and April.

A unique experience.

Falesia di Coktails Party Set out from Rifugio Mila, along the route along the right side of the Ceresole basin and after 1.5 km, the GTA to the Rifugio Leonesi begins on the right.

Continue along this for 10 minutes and the crag is on the right. A coupled of bolted routes and various possibilities for trad climbs. Davantididiedro (6c) and Ferro per niente (7a+) are the two evident lines that set out above the bench.

Forti di queste considerazioni abbiamo passato tre giorni in valle dell’orco e calpestando le orme dei clean climbers del passato, ci siamo lasciati ispirare alla ricerca del trad climbing del futuro, in una valle che ne rappresenta l’eldorado.

Le giornate nella valle sono volate in un soffio ma ogni ora è stata sfruttata con l’obiettivo di contribuire alla scoperta di nuovi settori in cui esprimere una differente visione dell’arrampicata .

Ancora una volta sono state le spazzole ma soprattutto le nuove regole del gioco a guidarci nella ricerca dei settori e delle linee, svelando ad alcuni componenti del team un modo nuovo di guardare le rocce.

And with these considerations in mind, we spent three days in the Orco Valley, following the footsteps of the clean climbers of the past, inspired by our quest for the trad climbing of the future, in a valley that is trad climbing’s El Dorado.

The days in the valley flew by, but every hour was put to good use with the aim of discovering new sectors in which to express a different vision of climbing.

Once again, the brushes but also the new rules of the game were our guide in the quest for new sectors and lines, revealing new ways of looking at the rocks to some of our team members.

Il negoziante provvederà ad inoltrarlo al distributore o direttamente alla Ferrino. Ferrino provvederà, a sua discrezione, a sostituirlo o ripararlo. Se il difetto risulta non coperto da garanzia, la riparazione sarà eseguita a costi contenuti, comprensivi di quelli di spedizione.

THE FERRINO WARRANTY Every Ferrino item has been studied in every detail and made using the most suitable materials for its intended purpose. The stringent “Ferrino Quality” controls guarantee that products are free from defects in material and workmanship. In the unlikely even that any defects of this type should appear, they are covered by this warranty, wich is valid for two years from the date of purchase. Rock Slave products have 2 years warranty.

We should also like to remind you that: The warranty does not cover defects caused by improper use or normal wear and tear of parts following prolonged use.

The purchaser must return the faulty item to the point of sale where the purchase was made, along with proof of purchase (a condition required for the validity of the warranty).

The retailer will then forward the item to the distributor or directly to Ferrino. Ferrino will, at its discretion, replace or repair the item. If the fault is not covered by the warranty, repairs will be carried out at low cost, inclusive of shipping or postage.

This warranty does not affect the consumer’s statutory rights, as specified by the laws in force in the country of use.

CODICE DI CONDOTTA NELLE RELAZIONI CON I PROPRI FORNITORI Ferrino ha da tempo richiesto l’accordo dei propri fornitori ad operare secondo principi di fiducia reciproca e di assoluto rispetto di diritti umani e dell’ambiente in cui si opera.
