I recently sat down with Frankie Schreiberman to talk about his business and about how the global pandemic has reshaped the way business is done (at least temporarily). A sharp, handsome guy, Schreiberman had previously been the manager at Pearl Vision for a number of years, and he made it clear he had enjoyed his time there, and that he'd learned a lot. It shows! The Royal Oak location has over 500 frames and the Hazel Park location has 350 of its own, with “a style for every taste!” Various brands of contact lenses and prescription sunglasses are also offered. “Competition is healthy,” Frankie said about the number of geographically nearby competitors, and he emphasized that personalized service, along with stylish product selection, would set his optical studio apart. His core approach is to offer the best online pricing, along with great inperson service, to create the best value possible for his growing customer base. As he pointed out, eyewear is hugely important in people’s lives, as glasses are often worn from the moment of waking up until bedtime. Schreiberman certainly understands eyewear. He has worn glasses himself since the age of three. His goal has been to help transform people’s experience of choosing eyewear from just a bland or neutral experience to something more exciting and engaging. He described himself coming from a family of entrepreneurs; his parents were successful in telemarketing, and his sister and brother-in-law are real estate agents with several rental properties. His early experiences of work were in helping out with these family enterprises, and really enjoying it. So, naturally, he gained a solid work ethic, and was later inspired to become an entrepreneur himself. Schreiberman added that the best part of his job is, “making someone happy, comfortable and positively impacting their day, by offering a good price, and a fantastic experience. In fact, most of my customers save 30-60 percent versus their typical eyewear experience. I do not want my customers to simply ‘go through the motions’ of choosing eyewear, which can be stressful. I want them to enjoy themselves!” Schreiberman has teamed up with a top-notch ophthalmologist in Hazel Park, Dr. Shawn S. Gappy, at Central Eye Care. Customers can get a seamless experience, with a full-eye exam and your prescription filled at at Prism Park Optical. Schreiberman has a flair for diverse and bold color palettes. As he said, with a smile, “My taste in color is borderline obnoxious, like a child who won the lottery!” His lively personality has totally transferred into his two optical stores, giving them both a unique vibe. Schreiberman has not let Covid hold him back. He had already formed the concept for his business two weeks before the virus was announced. Prism Park Optical Studio is located at: 319 S. Washington Ave in downtown Royal Oak, and at 23411 John R Road, Suite 4, in Hazel Park. Please call: 248.290.9697 with any questions, or visit their website: www.prismparkoptical.com. Visit them on Facebook for updated hours and further information on both locations. n
Does Your Child Have ADD, ADHD, Autism or Developmental Delay?
Better than “taking a pill for the rest of your child’s life,” help them “train their brain.” Neurofeedback is a safe, pain-free and permanent way to help. The Brain Training Center believes in the mind/body/brain connection. This method has been helping children and adults for over 20 years. Reasonable rates. This treatment works even with a child that has difficulty being still. Now covered by many insurance carriers.
