GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Wrimatic FT10 is a luxurious, executive style corporate family of seats with integrated A3 Wrimatic tablet.

Available in both standard and high-backed versions this seat has been designed for superior ergonomic and posture support. Suitable for radial and straight configurations, the FT Family can be tailored to room and space specifications. And is available with the option of integrated power and data points.

The integrated A3 Wrimatic tablet is the most robust tablet on the market having being tested to a load bearing of 240KG. It stows neatly when not in use and operates in one continuous opening movement thanks to its unique triangular joint; a feature designed using advanced aeronautical and engineering technology.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

In 1996, Ferco developed the Wrimatic tablet in response to the need for a large, sturdy, and reliable writing desk.

Designed by an aeronautical engineer, Wrimatic is the only folding writing lectern tested to withstand a load of 240 kg. Its fastening and folding mechanism is based on a triangular “prismoid” swivel joint, made of stainless steel.

The rest of the elements that make up its support are made of cast aluminium.

The folding is performed manually in a smooth and continuous movement. The support surface is made of ABS and has a thickness of 10 mm. This material is highly resistant to impact, heat and scratches.

Wrimatic provides the user with a large work surface of 300 x 425 mm that allows the use of laptops and tablets in a very comfortable way. It is suitable for both right and left-handed use.

Lenovo HQ Auditorium

Lenovo Group Ltd is a Chinese multinational technology company with headquarters in Beijing, China, and North Carolina, United States. One of the world's largest vendors of personal computers it designs, develops, manufactures, and sells computers, tablets, smartphones, workstations, servers, electronic storage devices, IT management software, and smart televisions.

Founded in Beijing in 1984, Lenovo now operates in over 60 different countries, with 55,000 staff serving customers in 160 countries. The company vision is to create personal devices that people are inspired to own.

Ferco worked with staff at one of Lenovo's principal facilities to design a solution and install seating in their corporate auditorium in Beijing. The market-leading FT10 auditorium seat was chosen. Lenovo customised their 495 seats with a wooden back and an extended back height.

This seat has been designed for superior ergonomic and posture support, perfect for auditoriums and seminar rooms.

Morgan Stanley Auditorium

A unique development featuring a cutting-edge commercial space luxury residential development. The auditorium is located off the ground floor reception and has a capacity of 265 seats in raked formation, with state of the art audio-visual facilities.

The curved ceiling incorporates softened lighting, to create daylight conditions during conferences. This continues the theme of dynamic form and provides a very attractive contrast.

Our executive auditorium seat, the FT10 Wrimatic with a customised backrest, was chosen for its comfort and design aesthetics. This chair also incorporates the A3 writing tablet, the Wrimatic, which stows neatly in the armrest when not in use.

Gymshark Auditorium

Headquartered in Solihull, the new Lifting Club is just across the road from the newly renovated, award-winning Oktra designed GSHQ office space. Oktra approached Ferco to provide seating for the 100-person auditorium at the centre of the Lifting Club.

They commented “Gymshark wanted a building that would accommodate their rapid growth and be an attraction for new employees and business. Oktra's design team collaborated with Gymshark and began a mission to open one of the best offices in the world.”

Ferco designed, manufactured and installed FT10 seats, which are designed to be multi-use and have a built-in Wrimatic writing tablet. Upholstered in black faux leather, the seats matched the proposed aesthetic, which follows through the whole building.

Liverpool Tung Auditorium

Designed by local architects Ellis Williams with cutting edge acoustic specification from Arup, this is a remarkable space for solo, chamber, choral and orchestral performances, but with adjustable acoustics it can accommodate a wide variety of jazz, folk, pop, electro-acoustic and experimental music too.

Owned and operated by the University of Liverpool, The Tung Auditorium and the two other lecture theatres in the Centre provide incredible new facilities for teaching, however, The Tung Auditorium is fundamentally a concert hall in every sense.

Ferco installed 400 FT10 Wrimatic seats equipped with a wooden backrest and seat panel and wooden end of the row panels, matching the hall's design.

CASPIAN, BEAUFORT

Ferco was honoured to be awarded the project to supply and install a total of 300 auditorium seats comprising of a mix of Beaufort and Caspian models.

22 Caspian seats were arranged along the front rows of the auditoriums VIP seating area.

Configured in link seating arrangements, the seat has been customised with a wider seat and backrest and finished with a wooden back and seat outer.

These Caspian auditorium seats also have a built-in concealed A3 writing tablet. The writing tablet can easily be stowed away into the hollow section of the armrest when not in use thanks to its gas lift feature.

Installed across the remainder of the auditorium are Beaufort seats which have also been customised with wider seats and backrests and finished with wooden backs and seat outers. The Beaufort seats at Menara Affin also feature a built-in A4 size writing tablet. Mounted directly onto the seat armrest, the Wrimatic Lite can be stowed away with ease in one smooth sweeping motion when not in use.

The seating configuration in the Menara Affin auditorium also allowed for a set of 3 linked seats with tandem removable leg and castor wheels to allow full mobility of the unit. This bespoke feature provides a flexible space that can be removed and accessed by wheelchair users when required.

UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE

The Pathways School is the second largest of its kind in Australia, where Trinity College welcomes students from 25 countries with cohorts including China, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam and Myanmar.

Key features of the Gateway building include 25 tutorial rooms, an auditorium with capacity for 250 people, five drama rooms, an art gallery, six music practice rooms and a computer and physics laboratories.

Ferco were selected to provide the College with seating in both the auditorium and tutorial rooms.

The College chose the popular FT10 with Wrimatic Tablet. This stylish, congenial, yet versatile seat attracts extremely positive feedback from its users. It is often utilised in main seminar rooms and large corporate auditoriums.

UNIVERSITY COLLEGE LONDON, LOGAN HALL

Logan Hall is a stunning auditorium owned by University College London's Institute of Education and located in their 20 Bedford Way building.

UCL recently undertook a £2.4 million upgrade to the interior of the grade 2 listed building, including a complete refurbishment of Logan Hall. The project was completed by TROY group, and as part of that refurbishment 910 new auditorium seats were installed by Ferco Seating.

UCL elected to use Ferco's versatile FT10 Wrimatic auditorium seat which is perfect for both education, auditorium and multi-purpose venues. The FT10 is fully upholstered with removeable seat covers and is designed for superior ergonomic and postural support. Featuring a structural steel frame throughout the seat and backrest for robust performance, the FT10 is virtually maintenance-free.

Ferco's Wrimatic tablet is load tested up to 240kg and is virtually unbreakable. The Wrimatic tablet makes the FT10 practical for lectures and conferences - and is fully integrated into the chair to stow away easily when not in use. Ferco's anti-panic system means that if there is an emergency when the tablet is in use, it is easily moved back to its stowed position with minimal effort leaving no obstructions to the user.

IBM RESEARCH CENTRE AUDITORIUM

IBM Research has been a home for creative scientific minds since 1945. It began expanding its businesses in China in 1979 and has since established a total of 31 branches in the country, with its businesses spreading to 350 Chinese cities.

IBM China Research Lab, founded in Beijing in 1995, is one of IBM's nine research institutes around the world. The lab is recognized as one of the most outstanding research institutes in China, IBM Research shapes the future of technology.

The Ferco design team worked with IBM to develop the Caspian seat with concealed tablet arm (CTA) to fit into their vision for a new auditorium inside their Headquarter buildings. Originally designed for the Hanoi Convention Centre project, the Caspian is a contemporary, sophisticated auditorium seat.

Finished in wood with a reveal, with sumptuous padding and a high back, it is customisable with a concealed tablet which stows neatly into the top of the armrest.

The modern colour palette and minimalist styling chosen by IBM is complimented by the Caspian's clean lines.

THE SODA BUILDING

BEAUFORT

Opened in late 2021, Manchester Metropolitan University's School of Digital Arts Building is a stunning addition to their campus. The SODA building is a purpose-built interdisciplinary school designed to support the growing demand for skilled workers in the region's creative & digital industries.

When Manchester Metropolitan University were selecting seating for the cinema in the SODA building, they required a chair matching their ethos of adaptability, innovation & longevity. Ferco's Primera Beaufort seat was selected as a perfect example of a comfortable, stylish & affordable seat which is a perfect fit for any cinema or auditorium.

76 Primera Beaufort seats were installed as well as four rows of fixed tiering to provide perfect viewing positions for each person. Upholstered in a stunning orange hue of Camira Main Line Flax fabric, the seating looks stunning and is held to the highest levels of fire safety. The seat covers are fully removable for ease of cleaning.

Ferco's Beaufort seat is highly customisable to fit in any performance space. Excellent lumbar support and a high backrest make the Beaufort perfect for screening rooms of any size. The fully enclosed seat pivot ensures safety when using the tip-up mechanism, and Ferco's Wrimatic writing tablet can be fully integrated into the seat if required.

LIVERPOOL CATHOLIC CLUB

BEAUFORT

The Liverpool Catholic Club is a private members club, primarily but not exclusively for those of the Catholic faith, located in New South Wales, Australia. The LCC is a leading organisation that offers a range of quality entertainment, and leisure services.

As well as multiple function rooms and outdoor event spaces, LCC Venues has an adjacent large club including a large auditorium, dining, bars, entertainment, a 4.5 star hotel, sports centre, gym, mini golf and an ice skating rink.

The newly refurbished LCC Venues theatre has multiple uses, including movie screenings, live music and conferencing facilities and is part of a larger $38 million dollar project.

The 273-seat auditorium is part of this innovative family destination and features Ferco's popular Primera Beaufort. Managed by Ferco's partner, Profurn, this installation required a customised Beaufort model with Arc cup holders.

SOUL CHURCH

ATLANTIC

In the heart of Norwich, a new beacon of community and faith has emerged. On the 2nd of March, SOUL Church opened its doors as a place of worship and a vibrant hub of activity and connection. Founded on the vision of becoming a home for all seeking spiritual fulfilment and purpose, SOUL Church stands as a testament to resilience and renewal, rising from the ashes of the former Norwich Family Life Church, destroyed by fire in 2006.

The seating solution needed to be equally versatile and comfortable for such a dynamic space. Enter Ferco Seating, renowned for its innovative and ergonomic designs. Tasked with outfitting the new church with 850 seats, the challenge was clear: create an environment where congregants could connect deeply with their faith and community, while ensuring durability and ease of maintenance.

Ferco Seating's Atlantic Padang (dark black / grey) coloured seats, including a soft close tip-up mechanism, proved to be the perfect fit for SOUL Church's vision.

Working closely with renowned architects Feilden+Mawson LLP and builders BDB Design, Ferco Seating seamlessly integrated the Atlantic seats into the newly constructed space. The overall project included the 1200-seater auditorium, a nursery, learning, youth hall and respite facilities, café, office space and a drop-in work hub. SOUL Church hopes the facility will become a community space for all, and we are very proud to have been involved.

ROYAL COLLEGE OF SURGEONS

In 1800, 'The Royal College of Surgeons in London' was born on presentation of a new Royal Charter. The Museum was a key part of the College and steadily increased in size and importance.

The post-war rebuilding of the College provided the opportunity to expand the teaching and research it provided. Following this the College's education facilities were transformed into a national centre of excellence for surgical education, training and assessment.

We designed and installed a seat that offers a professional, luxurious environment for a range of corporate events and meetings.

THE VISITOR CENTRE

BEAUFORT, LUCCA

The Visitor Center Building at the New Hamad Port is located in Mesaieed, South of Qatar. This building is a training and information hub for visitors to the port of Hamad. The Ministry of Transport and Communications commissioned the build to provide knowledge and educational activities related to the port operations, construction, and history of maritime activities in Qatar. It also houses an aquarium and Exhibit/Museum.

Ferco supplied the Beaufort seat for the rear rows and the VIP Lucca Glide seat for the front row for VIP guests.

The Beaufort seat meets rigorous British Standard strength testing and has a plethora of options available. These include accessibility features, movable caster options and aesthetic detailing such as wooden armrests, embroidered branding and acoustic testing.

The Lucca Glide Seat is a supremely comfortable seat which reclines under bodyweight into a perfect viewing position. This was customised with a laminated wooden table surrounding the cup holder, supplied to match the acoustic panels of the auditorium.

GIANT HQ AUDITORIUM

Recently installed FT10 seating with the Wrimatic which is the world's strongest integrated A3 writing tablet for Giant Manufacturing Headquarters in Taiwan. Founded in 1972, Giant are the world's largest manufacturer of bicycles Their mission: to create better bikes and improve the cycling experience.

Giant sought a partner to furnish their new training facility at their headquarters in Taiwan. Chosen for their ergonomic design and comfort, the FT10 lecture seat is the choice for discerning corporate training facilities. This seat is perfect for use with the Wrimatic writing tablet which can withstand a maximum bearing load testing of 240kg.

Ergonomically designed with inbuilt lumbar support, the FT10 with Wrimatic tablet is manufactured from sprung steel with a cold cured moulded foam surround - for comfort and longevity.

Its construction means that the FT10 is virtually maintenance free and features removable covers for cleaning ease, and the ability to have integrated power and data. Options such as wooden back, seat and aisle ends and embroidered logos enable customisation to reflect client branding and interior venue decor.

Ferco were asked to customise Giant's own bike water bottle holders to provide a cup holder attached to the FT10 auditorium seat. These were located underneath the writing tablets.

FORD DAVENTRY

In March 2016, a decision was made to extend the Ford Parts Distribution Centre. An additional building providing new courses and training became available to adult learners, technicians, sales staff and management who work for Ford, as well as students taking the successful Ford Masters Apprenticeship programmes.

The two-level building includes workshop areas, classrooms, a 200-seat auditorium and a vehicle showroom. The interior and exterior of the building follow the design and style of the newlook Ford dealer showrooms.

Throughout the building, the latest materials and design layouts have been used to ensure excellent overall energy efficiency and environmental performance.

The Atlantic auditorium seat was chosen for this lecture theatre as it is ergonomically designed and provides a high levels of comfort. It is easy to install and maintain and is ideal for both refurbishments and new projects as the variety of seat centre choices enable the maximisation of seating capacity.

AICO AUDITORIUM

Shropshire-based Aico is a market leader in domestic fire and carbon monoxide (CO) detection. Based in Oswestry, their Headquarters has recently relocated to a seven-acre site with a purpose-built three storey building.

The premises includes generous office space, a 100-seat auditorium, warehouse facilities, a passenger lift to provide full accessibility throughout the building, a centre of excellence, and car parking with wheelchair access spaces.

This Centre of Excellence will become Aico's state-of-the art training, meeting and demonstration facility. Housing a range of rooms and demonstration areas designed to support customers from across the industry, the building is also offered out to local businesses and the community free of charge, where they can make use of various rooms to hold meetings and training sessions.

Aico approached this project with the aim and commitment of engaging as many local companies and services as possible.

Ferco is based twenty miles from Aico HQ and were engaged to provide a bespoke fixed seating installation for their 100-person auditorium. Looking for an executive-style aesthetic, Aico chose the Primera Riviera from the Auditorium seating range. The Riviera has a wide deeply upholstered seat and a contoured ergonomically shaped backrest with its distinctive stitching pattern.

FORD DAVENTRY

ATLANTIC

The $18.2m purpose-built Oman Oil and Gas Institute, a centre for training the next generation of energy workers, has been officially opened in Innovation Park Muscat. The institute is designed to be a pioneering and specialised institute in the training and qualification of engineers and geologists, providing them with the necessary skills to develop and sustain the Sultanate's oil and gas resources.

It is established on a total area of 4,800 square metres, which contains several facilities, including a technical training centre, lecture halls, halls for workshops and simulations, classrooms, laboratories and a service building.

Assistant secretary general for Innovation Development at The Research Council, Dr Fahd bin Al Julanda al-Said, who attended the inauguration, said: “We believe the Oman Oil and Gas Institute will make a significant contribution to the development of human resources and capabilities [because it will] employ scientific research and innovation to address the industry's challenges facing human capital.”

It was built as part of Oman's five-year plan to enhance scientific diversification in the country, as it aims to develop innovations and technology to maximise the potential of the country's oil and gas sector, a vital pillar of Oman's economy.

The Institute required 218 Primera Pacific seats with a concealed tablet arm (CTA). The Pacific is the auditorium seat of choice where comfort and durability are the primary concerns.
