An Aloof Loop
Tiny House Volume Zero Competition
“AN ALOOF LOOP”. Distant home standing still as a photographer’s residence, located amidst the forest. The full-length rectangular block sits on the jack trailer which adds mobility to the project. The precedent is carefully selected looking to all the potentials of the area. The selected site is on an unused forest land which has a linkage to major landmarks: statue of unity and sardar sarovar dam and many other nearby attractive spots. The design follows one continuous band of steel frame creating a “loop”, around the volume of living spaces which offers more flexible way to live. Careful planning is done, so that small spaces appear much larger and more liveable. More emphasis is laid on bringing the natural light and views from the outside, which gives the sense of extension of the tiny house. All the openings are kept on the eye level to view the outside landscape from the inside. Potentials of this design is extended by adding various innovative sustainable features such as rainwater harvesting, solar rooftop and shipping container as recycle material. The overall design is based on the aspects of photography. 1) Facade and material palette is based on Colour and tint. 2) shape of roof top is based on Angle 3) Frame is used as a structure. 4) geometry is used as planning and spatial volume. 5) Opening and vistas are based on light and shadow.
