Stephens Pipe & Steel (SPS) has been manufacturing chain link fence for nearly 50 years, providing both the framework and the fabric needed for a wide variety of chain link options. They are a vertically integrated manufacturer of galvanized steel products Pipe and tubing make up the framework for chain link fence systems, and SPS offers the nation’s largest variety of these products. The company operates five tubing mills, producing a wide variety of sizes. The SPS team can color-coat or galvanize any size pipe, hot dip, pre-galvanized, polyester color, heavy mill color and PVC heavy mill. Pre-Galvanized: Pre-Galvanized pipe is made from domestic hot-dipped galvanized flat sheet. It is treated with a conversion coating and then coated with a clear topcoat. Our SPS 40 product is rolled using G210 coated steel exceeding the coating requirement of ASTM F1043, Group 1C. Hot Dip Schedule 40: Hot-dip galvanized pipe is formed raw before being galvanized. This protects the materials from white rust and corrosion. It meets or exceeds ASTM F1083 and ASTM F1043. Polyester & Heavy Mill: Polyester/Polyolefin has a stage 5 pre-treatment wash to prepare the pipe for the electro-static PupProtect™ add-on Puppy Panel polyester/polyolefin coating process. It meets the requirements • Discreet • Safe • Affordable of ASTM F1043 and ASTM F1083. PVC Heavy Mill: PVC Heavy Mill is cleaned and primed before being preheated in an oven and then dipped into a fluidized bath where the PVC powder bonds to the steel pipe. It meets the requirements of ASTM F1043. Stephens operates a total of 150 chain link weaving machines in 10 different locations. Our GAW chain link operation is in Mt Sterling, Ohio. All of the products made in Ohio meet the requirements of ASTM A 392.
