NO CONCRETE FOOTERS: Traditional concrete footers can trap moisture around posts, resulting in rot.

1x6x5’-7” + 2x4x5’-7” pressure treated wood is utilized for boxing-in the heavy duty 2.5” diameter galvanized steel post, attached to the SS-20 post with Ramset nails. Wood is in full contact at sides of steel post. No face fasteners for clean finish. Topped-off with a 6” black post cap to prevent moisture exposure and provide a neat finish.

Workmanship & Component Coverage Fence and Deck Connection ("Contractor")warrants to theoriginal purchasing homeowner or client ("Owner") that the installation will be free from defects ingeneral workmanship, trim, and accessories (including integrated lighting systems) for a period of one (1) yearfrom the dateof substantial completion.

2. Commercial Warranty Terms For commercial fencing and decking projects,warranty terms are determined by contracting structure: General Contractor Projects: 1-year warranty coverage when contracted through a General Contractor. DirectCommercial Customers: 3-year warranty coverage for all other commercial customers contracted directly with Contractor.

3. Material-Specific Structural Terms Wooden Fencing: Traditional installations arewarranted against structural failure for five (5) years. No-dig installations are warranted against structural failure for fifteen (15) years. PVC / Vinyl / Aluminum Fencing: Regardlessof installation method (Traditional dug/backfilled or No-Dig), PVC / Vinyl / Aluminum fencing installations arebacked by a Limited Lifetime structural warranty, passed through or supplemented by the respective product manufacturer. Chain-Link Fencing: Backed by a five(5) yearstructural warranty. Split Rail Fencing: Structure and postsare warranted for one (1) year.

4. Gate Adjustment Coverage Because ground freeze-thaw cycles, soilsettling, and weather fluctuations can cause post movement, Contractor provides complimentary gate alignmentandlatch adjustment service based on the following schedule: 1-Year Coverage: Wooden gatesandSplit Rail gates. 5-Year Coverage: Aluminum, PVC/Vinyl, and Chain-Link gates. Note: Gate adjustments requested afterthedesignated warranty period are considered routine maintenance and are subject to standard service call rates.Misalignments resulting from physical abuse, impact, unapproved heavy additions, or extreme environmental conditions are excluded.

5. Pressure-Treated Lumber & Natural Exclusions Life Expectancy of Pressure-Treated Lumber: Pressure-treatedwood is selected for its strength and resistance to rot, decay, and fungal attack. Under normal residentialconditions, pressure-treated structural components typically have an expected service life of fifteen (15) years, provided that mandatory maintenance and sealing requirements are regularly performed. Service life estimates reflect overall rot and decay resistance and do not guarantee that timber will remain free of natural surface weathering, checking, or minor warping over time. Natural Characteristics of Wood: Pressure-treated wood is a natural timber product treated under pressure. As it reacts to atmospheric moisture, temperatures, and sunlight, natural changes occur. Warping, twisting, cupping, bowing, checking (surface cracks), and color fading are expected characteristics and do not constitute defects. This warranty strictly covers structural functionality and does NOT cover:

Cosmetic Issues: Surface checking, minor splitting, warping, twisting, grain variations, resin bleeding, or natural weathering inherent to timber, composite, or vinyl products. Discontinued Products & Colors: Fence and Deck Connection is not responsible for replacing or matching any discontinued colors, styles, profiles, or product lines. This exclusion applies to all materials across 40

fencing, decking, railings, trim, and accessories. In the event of a covered warranty repair involving discontinued items, Contractor will substitute the closest available current manufacturer equivalent. NormalWear& Tear: Scratches, scuffs, mold/mildew buildup, staining, and hardware surface oxidation over time. Environmental & ExternalFactors: Damage caused by soil movement, drainage shifts, acts of God (storms, extreme winds, lightning, floods), pest/insect infestation, or tree root encroachment. Improper Use or Abuse: Overloading beyond designed capacities, impact damage, or negligence. CRITICAL NOTICE — Third-PartyAlterations&VoidingConditions Any post-installation addition, attachment, alteration, or structural modification completed by any party other than Fence and Deck Connection instantly and entirely voids this warranty. Installing unapproved secondary loads—including hot tubs, pergolas, gazebos, heavy planters, shade sails, or roof structures—without prior written consent and structural retrofitting by Contractor will render this entire warranty null and void immediately.

6. Mandatory Maintenance Requirements To maintain warranty validity, the Owner must perform anddocument annual maintenance: Wood Installations: Annual cleaning of organic debrisand re-application of a protective stain/water-sealant every 12–24 months as required by climate exposure. Composite / Vinyl / Aluminum / Chain-Link Installations: Bi-annual surface cleaning to remove dirt, mold, and organic matter using non-abrasive cleaners. Avoidusing wire brushes, metal scrapers, or harsh chemical ice-melts on composite decking boards andsynthetic surfaces. Structural Drainage & Ventilation: Keepingground clearances, under-deck ventilation, and footings free of accumulated mulch, dirt, leaves, or standingwater.

7. Claims Process & Service Fees Proof of Purchase Required: Warrantyservice requires presentation of the original signed contract, invoice, and proof of full payment. This warrantyisnon-transferable. Applicable Service Fees: While warrantedstructural repairs will be performed at no charge for covered labor/materials, trip charges, special-orderproduct costs, or supplier freight/restocking fees may apply. Remedies: Upon receipt of a valid writtenclaim within the applicable warranty period, Contractor will, at its sole discretion, repair the defective component, replace it, or refund the prorated portion of the original component purchase price.
