Music is inspiring. It can heal, transform, motivate, uplift, and spread love. It’s one of the universal ways people connect. Alabama native, Bianca Clarke found her passion in creating music and enjoys sharing her skills with the world as she impacts them through her messages and vibes. Most people take years to discover what they want to do but Clarke knew at a young age that creating music and being an artist was it for her. First, she worked on her craft by singing in the church, which later progressed into writing poems and songs. But to really develop her skills, Clarke knew she needed to study artists who were already doing big things in music, and who were already where she was trying to go. One-byone, she studied the likes of Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, Trina, and Lil Wayne, to name a few, to see what made them hitmakers. After high school, she went one step further and studied at the Art Institute of Atlanta to learn production and engineering; she hoped to be a well-rounded music artist. Pretty soon she built her confidence and skills to a point where her talents were undeniable and she started getting noticed on campus, in her home state, and in the music business. Clarke was labeled the “Rising Queen of Mobile” by the Alabama Press-Register. Today, her buzz is rapidly growing. She has been blessed to work with a host of well-known performers, and has been the recipient of 20 awards given to her at five separate Gulf Coast Music Award shows, Clarke means business and is on a mission to make a name for herself. On her quest to go to the next level, she started a record label, “QBGANG The Label.” You can listen to her latest album, Pretty Thug, on all platforms.

BIANCA CLARKE What has been the toughest part of your journey as a musical artist? I would say the toughest part of my journey would be being from a market with very little resources. It definitely made my journey a lot harder. Has it been hard as a Female Rapper to earn the same respect as male rappers? How do you demand your respect? Yes, in the beginning, it was hard but I challenged that by always going hard on every song. If I’m on a song with males, I go just as hard. I also respect myself first. Everyone in my hometown refers to me as “The Queen”. I take pride in that. Who are some influential people in the music industry that you have had the pleasure to work with? I’ve had the pleasure of working with Trina, Yung Bleu, Rylo Rodriguez, HoneyKomb Brazy, Rich Boy, and Tokyo Jetz. How do you feel about using platforms like TikTok to promote your music? I love TikTok. I think it’s a dope platform; I’ve been utilizing it more and more each day. You’re from Mobile, Alabama, has it been hard to show people outside of the city how much talent exists there? Yes, born and raised. It’s been extremely hard, but shout out to the artists from my city that’s shining more light on the market. What new music projects can readers look forward to in the upcoming months? Definitely, look forward to more visuals off my latest project “Pretty Thug” and I will be dropping a dope single this summer catered to the ladies. What would you say it takes to be successful in this industry? I think consistency and discipline help you have a successful career. You really can’t go wrong with those two qualities. How many hours do you devote to writing music? Sometimes 5 or more hours. I like to sit at home, take my time, then go to the studio. At what age did you get started, and what has helped you to stay consistent and avoid distractions? I got started young―when I was 15. But I didn’t transition into a professional level until I was 23. Started getting real serious about my career when I attended, “The Art Institute of Atlanta” for audio production. I constantly remind myself that I got a long way to go, and that keeps me motivated. What do you want the world to know and remember about you as an artist?
