Valentine’s Day---the holiday filled with LOVE, right? Well, I would argue that it can be a holiday filled with the LOVE of Organizing! We are just one month into this new year where many have goals to declutter and create an organized life or space. Let’s keep that momentum going using Valentine’s Day as another motivating force. Who knows? It may even help improve your love life.

It's no secret that disorganization can cause tension in relationships. I mean, who wants to have another first-thing in the morning argument over “where are my keys?”. Having an organized space that you share with another person will not only diffuse these types of daily squabbles, but it will also give you the gift of time, which is something every couple could use.

So, how do you start? Believe it or not, one of the best and easiest places to start in a home is in the primary bedroom, which is perfect in anticipation of Valentine’s Day. Your bedroom is where you start and end your day, and it can set the tone for what kind of morning or evening you are going to have. It is also a space that is easier to organize because you can easily identify items that belong somewhere in the home, not in the bedroom, allowing you to quickly declutter the space. And while a romantic primary bedroom is not THE secret to a happy relationship, of course, when you work to improve your bedroom and get it looking like a space that only requires some regular maintenance rather than a complete overhaul, you’re well on your way to inviting more romance into your relationship.

Here are 5 Tips to Organize Your Bedroom in Time for Valentine’s Day:

1. Make sure the bed is the focal point---not shoved into a corner

2. If you fold laundry on your bedroom, get it put away that same day

3. Make your bed

4. Dim the lights

5. Get rid of non-bedroom items, i.e., kid’s toys, exercise equipment and paperwork

Once you have decluttered your bedroom, try moving on to other spaces in your home. Let this be the start of your LOVE of organizing,

Happy Valentine’s Day! XOXO, Amy

You know the feeling you have when you find a new place you love and that your kids love too? You can’t wait to share it with all of your friends because it is so unique? This is it. This is that place. It happened as soon as we visited Milking R Dairy at Sutton Farms in Okeechobee, FL. I couldn’t wait to tell all of my other parent friends and set up a weekend playdate.

Palm Beach Parenting was invited by Florida Milk to tour Sutton Farms and see precisely what happens on a dairy farm each day. Florida is home to approximately 55 dairy farms but did you know Okeechobee is one of Florida’s leading dairy counties?
