A few favorites we are loving around the Palm Beaches this month.
1. Aioli. I stopped in again recently, and this West Palm sourdough bakery and café just earned another Michelin Bib Gourmand nod in the 2026 guide. Go for the house-made sourdough, breakfast sandwiches, and soups, then grab a croissant for the road. 7434 S. Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach. aioliwpb.com

Aioli - pastries & iced coffee! Meet the girls for brunch at Waterway Cafe!

2. Brunch at the Waterway Cafe. Meet your friends for brunch at the newly remodeled Waterway Cafe in Palm Beach Gardens. After a long renovation it reopened beautifully, with indoor and outdoor seating, Florida’s only floating bar, and those classic Intracoastal views. 2300 PGA Blvd, Palm Beach Gardens. waterwaycafe.com
3. Foxtail Coffee. I first fell for this homegrown Florida roaster on a trip to Orlando, so I was thrilled to grab an iced café con leche at the new Wellington location. Craft espresso drinks, cold brew, and a Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream counter to keep the kids happy. 1385 S State Rd 7, Wellington. foxtailcoffee.com
4. Reusable Popsicle Molds. Make the snack and beat the heat at once. Blend juice, yogurt, or leftover smoothie into homemade pops the kids can grab themselves all summer long. Sets like Zoku run about $20 to $25 at Target and Amazon.

5. Food Trucks & Live Music. Head to the Wellington Amphitheater for its free Food Truck and Music Series every Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. Local bands, a rotating lineup of food trucks, and plenty of lawn for the kids to roam. Just pack a blanket or some chairs. Wellington Amphitheater, 12100 Forest Hill Blvd; wellingtonfl.gov.

Father’s Day is the perfect chance to slow down and celebrate the dads and father figures in our lives. The best gift is usually time together, so skip the necktie this year and plan something memorable. Here in the Palm Beaches we are spoiled for choice, from the water to the trails to the couch. Here are 10 fun ways to make dad’s day.
Father’s Day is also a chance to celebrate every father figure in a child’s life, from grandpas and stepdads to uncles and the mentors who show up year after year. Get the kids involved in the planning, too. A handmade card, a breakfast in bed, or a simple list of what they love about dad can mean more than anything from a store.
1. Fire Up the Grill. Plan a backyard barbecue and let dad be the guest of honor instead of the head chef. Gather the family, cook his favorites, and settle in for an easy afternoon of good food, stories, and lawn games.
2. Hit the Trails . Get outside early and explore one of our local nature spots before the heat
sets in. Places like Grassy Waters Preserve, Riverbend Park, or the Loxahatchee refuge make for a scenic walk and great conversation.
3. Go Fishing. If dad loves to fish, pack the gear and cast a line. The Juno Beach Pier, the Lake Worth Lagoon, and our many canals are all good bets. Catch or no catch, the quiet time together is the real reward.
4. Host a Movie Marathon. Build a cozy movie day at home and let dad run the remote. Line up his favorites or pick a theme, then load up on popcorn, snacks, and comfy blankets for an afternoon of laughs and nostalgia.
5. Play a Round of Mini Golf. Challenge dad to a friendly match at Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf in Jupiter, PopStroke in West Palm Beach or Delray, or Putt’n Around in Delray Beach. Loser buys the ice cream!
6. Explore a Museum. Discover something new together at a local museum. The Cox Science Center and Aquarium is a hit with all ages, or pick a spot that matches dad’s

interests for a day of hands-on fun and good conversation.
7. Take a Road Trip. Hit the road for an adventure. Keep it close with a Florida getaway like St. Augustine or St. Pete, or simply pick a direction and explore. Crank the playlist, stop for snacks, and enjoy the ride as much as the destination.
8. Try Something New. Step out of your comfort zones together. Kayaking, paddleboarding, rock climbing, or even a class dad would never sign up for solo makes for a memorable first and a great story later.
9. Have a Game Night. Gather around the table for some friendly competition. Break out his favorite board games, cards, or video games and play it out. Bonus points for a little trash talk: Uno, Monopoly, or Super Mario Kart can get very competitive!
10. Build Something Together. Take on a DIY project side by side, whether it is a birdhouse, a model kit, or a long-postponed garage fix. The time together is the point, and you both end up with something to show for it.
However you spend it, Father’s Day is really about showing up and being together. The day does not have to be elaborate to be meaningful. Most dads will tell you they would rather have an unhurried morning with the whole family in one place than a big production. So pick an idea or two from the list, keep it relaxed, and let the day unfold. Better yet, make it a tradition you return to every June.
Happy Father’s Day, from all of us at PB Parenting!

• Hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes
• Sunscreen with an SPF rating of at least 45. Pro tip: Apply sunscreen before leaving home - send a bottle for reapplication pack a hat/ sunglasses
• Insect repellant wipes and/or insect repellent wristband (do not send an aerosol can of insect repellant–the spray will sting if it gets in your child’s eyes.)
• Bathing suit and towel
• Bring two water bottles one that is frozen to enjoy later as it melts.
• Comfortable running shoes or closed-toe sports sandals WITH socks
• Extra set of clothes (especially a pair of socks and shirt if they get wet from the rain)

• Food: Some day camps will provide lunch and snacks. If you pack a lunch it should be easy to eat on the ground. A sandwich (avoid peanut butter since most camps are nut-free), fruit and a juice box or water makes for a healthy lunch. Granola bars make an excellent snack. Some camps may have snack bars or vending machines. Notify the camp of any food allergies your child may have.
• Do not bring valuable items like electronics.

GO WI L D GO WI L D this Father’s Day! this Father’s Day!

At Florida Power & Light Company (FPL), safety is the cornerstone of our commitment to customers and employees. It is not a matter of if, but when the next hurricane will hit our state, which is why it’s important to be proactive in planning for the six-month-long hurricane season.
Whether you're a longtime Floridian or new to the state, having a plan in place is the best way to stay safe this storm season. Below is a list of what you can do before, during and after a storm.
Determine whether your home or business is located in a flood or evacuation zone and review local evacuation routes.
Determine your backup power source or make arrangements to relocate if a storm warning is issued.
The Division of Emergency Management recommends that drivers keep their gas tanks at least half full throughout hurricane season. Electric vehicle (EV) owners should aim to maintain a charge between 50% and 80% at all times.
Reach out to your local emergency management office if you or anyone you know has special medical needs, in case of evacuations. Apply for our Medically Essential Service designation if someone in your home relies on electric-po wered equipment.
Build an emergency kit with non-perishable food, bottled water, flashlights, batteries, medications, and a first-aid kit. Don’t forget phone chargers, power banks, and a waterproof container for important documents.
Don’t forget information such as include
insurance policies, health cards, birth certificates, Social Security cards, a list of emergency contacts, and a recent copy of your FPL bill.
Install approved hurricane shutters over windows and doors or using alternate covering such as plywood.
Move patio furniture and outdoor items indoors, fasten doors and windows, and cover valuables and furniture with plastic and move away from windows.
Turn off and unplug unnecessary electronics, including pool equipment, and set your refrigerator and freezer to their coldest settings to keep food fresh longer during an outage.
DO NOT attempt to trim trees or vegetation near overhead power lines yourself – only hire qualified professionals to trim trees and other vegetation near power lines. Visit FPL.com/ trees for more information on our tree trimming policies.
Look up and note the location of power lines before you begin working on a ladder. Be sure that any ladders or scaffolds are far enough away so that you – and the ends of the tools you're
using – don't come within 10 feet of power lines.
If you're planning to use a portable generator, read and follow all the manufacturer’s instructions. Be sure to set it up outside – not in your home or garage – and connect appliances directly to it. Do not wire your generator directly to your home’s breaker or fuse box, as the power you generate may flow back into power lines and cause injuries.
Stay far away from and do not touch any downed power lines or flooded and debris-laden areas that may be hiding downed power lines.
Bookmark FPL.com and save 1-800-4-OUTAGE (1-800-468-8243) to your cell phone to report and check the status of your restoration. Stay informed by following your local news and @ insideFPL for updates on storm conditions and heed warnings.
FPL works year-round to be ready for severe weather and urges customers to prepare by making safety a priority this storm season. For more tips, visit FPL.com/storm.

BY AMY BERGMAN
As Father’s Day approaches, many families are looking for ways to spend more meaningful time together this summer. One of the greatest gifts we can give any caregiver in the home is less daily chaos and fewer repetitive stressors.
Summer is associated with relaxation, but it often brings a surprising amount of disorder: more snacks, more laundry, more activity, and far less predictable routines. The good news is that a little preparation at the start of the season goes a long way. Summer memories are rarely built around perfectly clean kitchens or color-coded bins. They are built in spontaneous ice cream runs, movie nights, and slow evenings together. A few simple systems let families spend less time managing chaos and more time enjoying one another.
Set up a grab-and-go zone near the door your family uses most, so no one is hunting for the same items over and over. Stock it with sunscreen, bug spray, reusable water bottles, hats and
sunglasses, pool towels, and a family charging station. Clear bins, labeled baskets, and low hooks make a big difference without expensive organizing products. When kids can reach the towels and water bottles themselves, parents spend less time acting as the household retrieval service all summer long.
Summer hunger seems to begin approximately seven minutes after breakfast. A simple snack system reduces constant kitchen traffic while building independence: designate one snack zone in the pantry and refrigerator, pre-portion grab-and-go options into bins children can reach, and keep water bottles washed, filled, and visible. Younger children do better with a small, parent-approved selection than with endless options. Limiting choices reduces decision fatigue for everyone.
Between camps, vacations, sports, playdates, and appointments, summer schedules get complicated fast. A small, realistic communication center keeps everyone on the same page without turning a wall into a Pinterest project. Include a shared family calendar, one paper drop zone for camp forms and invitations, a dry erase weekly overview, and a simple dinner lineup. The goal is not perfection. It is visibility. When schedules are visible to everyone, there is less last-minute scrambling and fewer reminders bouncing around in one person’s head all day.
The biggest mistake families make is building systems too complicated to maintain in real life. Focus less on perfection and more on recovery. Try small reset baskets in high-traffic areas, labeled bins for outdoor gear, fewer
items out at one time, and a quick 10-minute family reset each evening. Children participate far more when cleanup is simple, visible, and low on decisions, and it helps to remember that the floor is not a storage solution. Give yourself permission to define organized in a way that fits your actual lifestyle rather than an image online.
The goal of summer organization is not perfection. It is a home that supports the people living in it. When families cut down on the constant searching, reminding, restocking, and picking up, they create more space for connection, rest, spontaneity, and fun. At the end of the summer, most families will not remember whether every towel was folded
perfectly or every toy made it back into the right bin. They will remember how the season felt. And often, the simplest systems create the most breathing room for the moments that matter most.
