The best option for anyone wanting a WiFi signal in public is to use their mobile phone as a personal hotspot. This provides WiFi access to your laptop through your personal phone. The phone will offer a secure signal and unique password giving it a lot of protection.
VPN is often built into laptops and phones. Some of the virus protection solutions out there also offer a VPN in addition to the virus protection and dark web monitoring which could cost as little as about £25 a year for up to three devices.
How can I support people I work alongside, such as customers, staff or volunteers, to understand cyber threats? o
The slides include further resources at the end, many of which are free to access. They often include free information, training and resources that you can leverage to teach people what to be looking out for and what to do if fraud may have happened.
