Sip & Stroll Program.

Merchant Operating Guide

The Sip & Stroll program allows guests to purchase alcoholic beverages from participating restaurants and enjoy them within designated common areas of the shopping center. This program is made possible through a Commercial Lifestyle Center License issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia ABC.

Participation is a privilege that requires strict adherence to ABC regulations, public safety standards, and center policies.

Eligibility to Participate.

To participate in the Sip & Stroll program, a merchant must:

• Hold a valid Virginia ABC on-premises restaurant license in good standing

• Execute the required participation agreement with Landlord

• Maintain all required insurance, including liquor liability coverage

• Complete required responsible alcohol service training (as directed)

Where Guests May Go.

Guests may:

• Exit your premises with an alcoholic beverage only in an approved branded disposable cup

• Walk within the designated Sip & Stroll common areas (see center map)

Guests may not:

• Hold a valid Virginia ABC on-premises restaurant license in good standing

• Enter another restaurant while carrying a drink

• Carry alcohol outside the designated boundaries

Merchants are responsible for helping communicate these boundaries to guests.

03 Where Alcohol May Be Sold & Served.

Alcoholic beverages:

• Must be purchased and served inside your leased premises (or your approved cafe area, if applicable)

• May not be sold or handed to a guest who is outside your premises

04 05 Required Drinkware.

All beverages intended for Sip & Stroll use must be served:

• In the official branded disposable cup

• At the point of sale inside your premises

No other containers are permitted.

Entering Other Businesses .

Guests:

• May enter participating retail stores within the permitted area, if that retailer allows it

• May NOT enter any restaurant with an alcoholic beverage

If a guest wishes to purchase another drink or dine at another restaurant, they must:

1. Dispose of the original cup, and

2. Receive a new beverage in a new branded cup from the new location.

Merchant Responsibilities.

Participating restaurants are required to:

• Inform guests of:

• The designated Sip & Stroll boundaries

• The requirement to use branded cups

• The prohibition on entering other restaurants with alcohol

• Ensure all alcohol service follows ABC laws and your ABC license requirements

• Cooperate with:

• Center management

• Security

• Local law enforcement

• Ensure staff complete required responsible alcohol service training

• Maintain all required insurance and provide certificates upon request

Compliance & Enforcement.

Failure to follow program rules may result in:

• Immediate suspension from the Sip & Stroll program

• Default under your lease

Termination of participation rights

The program may also be suspended if:

• Your ABC license is not in good standing

• The center's ABC license is suspended or terminated

Operational Best Practices .

To support a successful program:

• Train hosts and bartenders to explain Sip & Stroll in one sentence

• Keep branded cups stocked at all times

• Post the Sip & Stroll map where staff can reference it

• Encourage responsible consumption and pacing

• Increase cross-shopping and dwell time

• Drive restaurant beverage sales

• Enhance the guest experience

• Support the overall vibrancy of the center
