Fraser Coast Regional Council acknowledges to the east, the Butchulla (Badtjala) and to the west, the Kabi Kabi (Gubbi Gubbi) People, their connection to Country (land, sea and sky) and recognise the many places of cultural, spiritual, social and economic significance in the community. We pay respects to their Elders – past, present and emerging. We also acknowledge other First Nation Aboriginals and the Torres Strait Islander people, who reside in the Fraser Coast region.

For Sienna Edmondstone, performing has always felt like the most natural thing in the world. The young Fraser Coast singer, dancer and actor traces one of her earliest memories back to a family camping trip, when a tour guide invited visitors at a cave to perform on a stage with remarkable acoustics. Sienna got up and sang.

“It’s such a special memory and probably one of the first times I realised how much I loved being in front of an audience,” she recalls.

That early instinct has grown into a serious commitment to a career in the performing arts. Singing came first, with acting following close behind through school musicals. Dance arrived in Grade 9 and quickly became, in her words, the moment she fell in love with performing as a whole.

“That was when I really fell in love with performing as a whole, especially musical theatre, and started to seriously consider it as a career,” she says.

The turning point came in Year 10, when Sienna performed as Ariel in Macabre Theatre Company’s production of The Little Mermaid.

“Being part of that production and stepping into a role like that completely solidified my passion, and I knew this was what I wanted my future to look like.”

A graduate of Hervey Bay Performing Arts College, Sienna juggled Year 12 studies with dance training, aerials instructing at Physipole Hervey Bay, and performances with Macabre Theatre Company. Most recently, she appeared in their production of The Rocky Horror Show at the Brolga Theatre.

She’s now in a gap year before heading to university to study musical theatre, with modelling and professional auditions also on the horizon.

Her advice to other young performers on the Fraser Coast? “Just keep going and trust your journey. Take every opportunity you can, keep training, and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Most importantly, remember why you started. If you genuinely love what you do, that passion will carry you through the challenges.”
