eLibrary This is a simple guide to our eLibrary. More information regarding the abundance of resources the library has for public use can be found here: frasercoast.qld.gov.au/elibrary. These include eBooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines, eLearning, Children and Young Adult eLibrary and Databases.

Using the Library Catalogue 1. Finding the Catalogue In your web browser type in catalogue.frasercoast.qld.gov.au to access the Fraser Coast Libraries catalogue.

2. Logging in At the top right-hand side of the screen click the ‘Log in’ button. To log in you will need your library membership number (located on your library card) and password to log in.

Once logged in, return to the home page to search the catalogue by using the link at the top left-hand side of page.

2. Searching the catalogue To search the library catalogue simply type what you are looking for in the search field and press the enter key or click the magnifying glass search icon.

The results will be displayed in categorised format (books, video, music, audiobooks, etc). To expand on these formats simply click ‘View all results’.

After clicking on the item you wish to borrow, you will land on the details page, which includes helpful information. The advanced search function is available to the left of the screen.

3. Reserving an item You can reserve the item by clicking the ‘Reserve’ tab.

Select which location you wish to collect from and click the ‘thumbs up’ icon.

You have successfully reserved an item and will be notified when it’s ready to collect. Please remember to ‘Logout’ when you have finished, located at top right of screen.

eBooks - ePlatform

ePlatform is simple to use – all you need is a library card and password. There are more than 3700 titles available for loan. Once you have created your account, you can borrow in the convenience of your own home.

1. Accessing ePlatform from a PC Go to frasercoast.qld.gov.au/ebooks and select ePlatform

2. Sign in to your account At the top of the page click on ‘Sign In’ and enter your library membership number, located on the back of your library card, and PIN.

3. Searching and borrowing an item You can now search ePlatform’s eBook catalogue by using the search bar at the top right of page and click the magifying glass search icon.

From here select the item you wish to borrow and click the borrow button.

Simply click the link ‘begin reading’ to open the eBook. To find a list of current loans click ‘Loans’ at top left side of screen.

From the screen, you are able to continue reading or return any of your borrowed eBooks. eBooks from ePlatform can be read using a variety of electronic devices, including PCs, tablets, smartphones and specialised eReaders. Please see the support section of the ePlatform website (frasercoast.wheelers.co/help)for detailed instructions on how to set up your device to download and read ePlatform eBooks.

eBooks - BorrowBox

BorrowBox allows you to access more than 4000 selected eBooks, which may be loaned and downloaded to your own device or computer to read later. You will need to create an account using your library membership number, located on the back of your library card, and PIN to log in. You can borrow eight eBooks at a time and your loan can be renewed after two weeks if you have not read them. To open BorrowBox eBooks on a PC you will need to have installed Adobe Digital Editions software. For more information visit the help section.

1. Accessing BorrowBox from a PC Go to frasercoast.qld.gov.au/ebooks and select BorrowBox

2. Sign into your account

Sign in using the button located at the top right-hand side of the screen.


3. Searching the catalogue You can now search the catalogue by title, name or author. Advanced search features are available if needed. The search bar is located at the top right of the screen, below the sign in button.

4. Borrowing the item Once you have found an eBook you wish to borrow, simply click the green borrow button. You are then able to download the item via the Adobe Digital Editions software.

eBooks from BorrowBox can be read by using a variety of electronic devices, including PCs, tablets, smartphones and specialised eReaders. Please see the support section of the BorrowBox website for detailed instructions on how to set up your device to open the eBooks.

eMagazines & eNewspapers - PressReader

Read thousands of the world’s most popular newspapers and magazines on your mobile device or computer. Access full-text local, national and international publications. 1. Accessing PressReader from a PC Go to frasercoast.qld.gov.au/emagazines in your browser and click on the PressReader link.

2. Signing in Log in to PressReader by clicking on the ‘Sign In’ button in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

3. Signing in - Library or Group Click on the button ‘Library or Group’.

4. Searching for your library Start typying ‘Fraser Coast’ in the search field and then click on ‘Library - Fraser Coast Regional Council’ once the option appears.

5. Enter your library card number Enter your library membership number, located on the back of your library card, and PIN. The click on the ‘sign in’ button. You are now ready to browse the collection.

6. Browsing the publications You can browse the categories on the left side of the screen. Click on a desired category to view the available titles. Then simply click on a desired title to open the publication to read.

7.Selecting your issue Select the issue you would like to read, then click on ‘Read now’.

8. Reading the publication Once you have selected and opened a title to read, you can either swipe from right to left holding the mouse button, or use the arrow keys on your keyboard to turn a page. Clicking on a page once will zoom in or out.

At the bottom of the screen you are able to navigate the contents of the publication.

Clicking on the ‘A’ button will switch between text and page view. In text view, the text becomes the prominent item on each page.

eMagazines - Good Reading

Good Reading Magazine is a monthly printed publication dedicated to finding Australian and New Zealand readers great books. On this website you can find published articles, as well as exclusive online content and book reviews. It provides a great way of keeping abreast of new and emerging authors and gives reviews of new titles each month in a number of genres. 1. Accessing Good Reading Magazine Go to frasercoast.qld.gov.au/emagazines and click on the hyperlink ‘monthly printed publication’.

Simply click on the edition you would like to read to open the eMagazine automatically.

At the top of the screen you will find a tool bar with functions such as print, share, search, my account and pages/issues.

To turn the page click the next icon.

Back issues can also be accessed at any time. At the top right-hand corner of the screen press on the icon

eAudiobooks - BorrowBox

You will need to create an account by using your library membership number to access more than 2000 available titles. These can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You can borrow up to eight titles at a time. To play the eAudiobooks on your computer, you will need a media player of your choice. For more information visit the help section.

1. Accessing Borrowbox from a PC Go to frasercoast.qld.gov.au/eaudiobooks and click on the hyperlink ‘access over 2,000 available titles’

2. Sign into your account

Sign in using the button located at the top right-hand side of the screen. You will need your library membership number located on the back of your library card, and your PIN. 16


3. Searching the catalogue You can now search the catalogue using title, name, author or narrator. Advanced search features are available if needed. The search bar is located at the top right of screen, below the sign in button.

4. Borrowing the item Once you have found an eAudiobook you wish to borrow, simply click the green borrow button. You are then able to download the item and play with your media player of choice.

eLibrary for Tablets

Using the Library Catalogue 1. Finding the Catalogue In your web browser type in catalogue.frasercoast.qld.gov.au to access the Fraser Coast Libraries catalogue.

2. Logging in At the top right-hand side of the screen click the icon to log in. You will need your library membership number, located on your library card, and password to log in. Once logged in, return to the home page

3. Searching the catalogue To search the library catalogue, simply type what you are looking for in the search field and press the enter key or click the magnifying glass search icon.

eBooks - ePlatform

Accessing ePlatform from an iPad Locate the ePlatorm icon and select to launch the app. Select Fraser Coast Libraries from the list.

eBooks - BorrowBox

Borrowbox allows you to access more than 4000 selected eBooks, which may be loaned and downloaded to your own device or computer to read later. 3. Borrowing the item Once you have found an eBook you wish to borrow, simply click the green ‘Borrow’ button located at the bottom of screen and confirm the loan.

4. Opening the eBook Select ‘Read Now’ from the pop up notification to open the eBook.

You may experience further messages asking if you would like to be notified about your loan status and if you would like to allow the app to send you alerts. These settings can be changed under system settings on your tablet.

5. Downloading the eBook At the bottom of screen, select the green arrow icon to start downloading the eBook. It is recommended to download eBooks over a wifi connection. A progress bar will display when downloading. When finished the eBook will open automatically.

6. Reading the eBook To flip pages simply swipe your finger from right to left of screen or left to right to return to the previous page.

7. Reviewing your loans All your current loans and reserved items can be found by clicking ‘My Loans’ located at the bottom of screen. From here you can return or renew your loaned items.

eMagazines & eNewspapers - PressReader

Read thousands of the world’s most popular newspapers and magazines on your mobile device or computer. Access full-text local, national and international publications. 1. Accessing PressReader from a tablet Search and install the PressReader app via Apple Appstore or Google Play. After opening the app, click ‘Sign in’.

2. Signing in The Sign in page will appear, tap ‘Libraries & Groups’. 3. Library or Group sign in The Library or Group Sign In screen will appear. Tap ‘Select Library or Group’.

4. Select library In the new screen, search for Library - Fraser Coast Regional Council Then tap on the result

5. Enter your library card number Then type your library card number in the space provided.

eMagazines - Good Reading

2. Searching the catalogue Tap the magnifying glass search icon located at the bottom of the screen for iPads and at the top for Android devices. Select eAudiobooks and type in keywords to find an item. iPad

3. Borrowing the item Once you have found an eAudiobook you wish to borrow, select it from the list then simply tap the green borrow button and confirm the loan. Tap ‘download now’

4. Downloading and playing tracks You can either choose to download the entire eAudiobook or individual tracks. Download entire eAudiobook Once you’ve loaned your eAudiobook tap on the download button

After tapping the download button your eAudiobook will start to download to your device.

5. Playing your eAudiobook You can now start listening to your eAudiobook by either tapping on the individual tracks or by going to the player screen and tapping the ‘play’ icon.

6. Reviewing your borrowed items Tap ‘My Loans’ to review your borrowed items, your reserve status and loan history. You can also choose to return or renew a borrowed eBook or eAudiobook.
