(All Ages) Join us to celebrate African American stories, food traditions, music, and contributions to American spiritual life. Activities will include a special guest storyteller, live music, crafts, history, and food trucks offering African American cuisine.

(4-Adult) Join us for a Juneteenth celebration in the garden to honor the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. Celebrate and gather as a family to reflect on the past and look to the future. Guest speakers Teri Speight and Abra Lee will discuss the past, present and future of Black garden clubs in Virginia, and environmental educator Maya Alexander will highlight the benefits of natural spaces for the Black community. Enjoy a mini Farmer’s Market and activity tables for children. After lunch, join a garden walk or seed planting session. Pack a picnic or preorder your meal from local restaurant, Granddaddy’s Skillet. All attendees (including children) must be registered and children must be accompanied by an adult.

Father’s Day Grind

(All Ages) Bring Dad or Grandad out to see and hear 19th century technology at work. The miller will be grinding, conditions permitting. Please call the site to confirm. Free admission for Fathers and Grandfathers.

Sully Annual Car Show

(All Ages) Bring Dad out this Father’s Day, June 19 to see over 200 antique cars on display. Classic cars will be judged and trophies awarded. Included in the show will be restoration displays, cars for sale, tours of the first floor of the historic house, music, food, a children’s tent and a flea market! Preregistration will be available online until June 17, walk-ins are also accepted.

Grand Re-Opening of Hidden Oaks Nature Center

(All Ages) Welcome to the opening of the additions and renovations of Hidden Oaks, the county’s first nature center! Thanks to Fairfax County voters supporting the 2016 Park Bond, the nature center now features an additional classroom/public meeting area, renovated restrooms and additional exhibit space. Celebrate with community groups and partners with a puppet show, music, live animals and more.

4-H Fair and Carnival at Frying Pan Farm Park

The 4-H Fair and Carnival is back this year with fun for the whole family! This popular event spans 4 days and includes carnival games and rides, tractor demos, 4-H exhibits and shows, fair food, and live entertainment.
