Sports Physicals at F.C. & Justice High This Month

Registration is now open for sports physicals at Falls Church High School on June 16 and Justice High School on June 17. Students can register at either school regardless of which school they attend.

This successfully completed physical will be good for all sports and out of season practices (green days, yellow days, weight-room workouts) for the 2021-2022 school year.

Sports physicals are required for all students who intend to participate in high school sports. This event is a fundraiser for the Falls Church and Justice High Schools’ athletic training programs. The cost of the physicals is $50. Space is limited and walk-ins will not be accepted for this year, so those interested are encouraged to register early.

To register, go to justicehssports. com and click on the “Camps/OffSeason Info” tab. The flyer for the event and the link to register can be found there.

Community Open House To Save Justice Park

There will be a Community Open House in Justice Park (3302 Peace Valley Lane, Falls Church) this Saturday, June 5 from 2 – 4 p.m. The open house will include speakers, a tour of the ‘hidden side’ of the Justice Park, a scavenger hunt for children, ice cream and orange flags planted to reveal the threatened loss of open space inside the park.

Those interested are encouraged to come and show support for a community park which is a valued place for relaxation, recreation, play and sports and community members want to save it from a proposed redesign plan.

Fairfax County Public Schools and Fairfax County Park Authority are proposing to pave up to twoacres of green space inside Justice Park for additional parking for Justice High School.

Surrounding communities have not had any meaningful opportunities to weigh in to provide public comment on these plans and offer alternatives which may reduce the needs for parking for high school students.
