Literary Hill BookFest Goes Virtual

The coronavirus pandemic won’t stop the Literary Hill BookFest, with the free event taking place virtually from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 3 at literaryhillbookfest.org.

For the first time, people from across the nation will be able to attend without leaving their own homes. Well-known authors of poetry, novels, nonfiction, children’s books and memoirs will participate both live and in recorded videos. The flavor of Washington, D.C.’s Capitol Hill neighborhood will still pervade the BookFest, but now guests won’t have to live there to attend. A complete schedule of activities will be announced by today on the website but, no matter what time someone joins on Sunday, there will be something to interest every reader.

A few authors participating include: Allison McGill, Carl Hulse, Angela Tilghman, Eva J. Pell, Louis Bayard, Con Lehane, E. Ethelbert Miller, Garrett Peck and Glenn Mourning.

Individuals seeking resources, advice or a listening ear can access the virtual programs through Zoom.us, a free and downloadable software program that can be used on most electronic devices. The
