Winter Time is Whale Time Cabrillo Whalewatch

Sunday, December 26 through March 2022 Daily Go to sea any day of the week in search of migrating Pacific gray whales, as well as humpback and fin whales, a variety of dolphin species, sea lions, pelicans and other marine life. Cabrillo Whalewatch volunteer naturalists accompany you on two-to-three-hour boat trips from various landings. Join the fun! Our new inflatable whales were sponsored by Councilman Joe Buscaino and the Port of Los Angeles.

Pursuant to City of Los Angeles Ordinance No. 187219, beginning Monday, November 29, 2021, PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION will be required forindividuals eligible for COVID vaccination to enter all indoor LA Parks facilities. All individuals that are eligible for COVID vaccination participating or entering an indoor facility must show PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION. For those unable to provide PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION, alternative programming is available.

Sunday, February 6 11am-4pm Join us for tons of fun as we celebrate the migration of the Pacific gray whale and the beginning of the whale watching season! It’s a family day filled with activities and exhibits for all — games, arts and crafts, puppet shows, marine awareness organizations, expert guest lecturers and festive music. Merriments include building whale sand sculptures, the famous Duct Tape Whale Contest and life size inflatable whales you can go inside! A free event for the whole family!

Adults March 4 to March 12, 2022 Join CMA for a trip that truly is the journey of a lifetime! During this nine-day ocean voyage, we spend three exciting days anchored in San Ignacio Lagoon, where friendly gray whales and their curious calves swim within arm’s length of the skiffs. Naturalist-led hikes on remote, offshore islands provide exceptional views of elephant seal rookeries, a multitude of birds, diverse geological formations and a wide range of native vegetation. Thirty participants will eat well and sleep comfortably on the 113-foot Royal Polaris, leaving from San Diego (bus transportation between CMA and San Diego is provided).
